GOLDEN DAYS;

The words catch him off guard, but even he wasn’t particularly sure why at first. When most people looked at Alex, it was hardly any kind of light that they saw. And although it wasn’t quite a looming darkness either, it was certainly something that kept others at arms length.

Alex knew full well that he wasn’t normal, not by any average person’s standards. He could shut down, often saw things that other people didn’t. It made people uncomfortable. He was always the jagged puzzle piece, the one that never quite fit into the whole picture. 

But Shay never seemed to care about that, or really anything at all at first (aside from maybe the edge of aggravation she’d displayed at their ‘reunion.’) 

He found it amusing, the way she approached him easily and challenged him, and without any hesitation either. Maybe that was why she was slowly becoming one of the few people to truly know him outside of his cold exterior --- the wall he’d always kept up to keep the darkness at bay.

aurelia stares at seojun for a few seconds then shrugs, ❝i want to keep the baby. you don’t have to help me take care of them. i just wanted to let you know?❞

she then looks at the ground again, ❝sorry, we won’t be able to have fun for a while. you can also walk out right now. i don’t mind, i know you have a lot on your plate already.❞

aurelia didn’t want to burden the male any longer and she didn’t want to be in pain any further either. the quicker she was able to get a definite answer, the quicker she’ll be able to get her life together.

There’s an almost pang of guilt he feels, because a part of him (the more selfish and cowardly part) knows that he very well could just walk out. It wouldn’t be the first time in his life he’s walked away, refused to take responsibility. ❝Wait, I...❞ He trails off for a moment, hesitating. 

His father did always want him to take more responsibility, though he’s certain it wouldn’t be like this. But Seojun really does care about her---he cares about what happens to her. Knows that she has a life that has now been upturned, partially because of him.

He isn’t entirely certain the choice isn’t at least partially made on impulse but he decides for ONCE, he won’t run. ❝Look, I know I’m kind of a mess. I barely know what I’m doing with my life and I’m kind of terrified.❞ He shakes his head, ❝but---I do want to stay, I want to help you. If you’re okay with that.❞ 

aurelia wasn’t sure how to break it him. he’s been a great friend and he’s shown her the life of being free. this was the first time where she wasn’t under the eyes of her parents and all she wanted to do was have fun.

everything was going great and they had fun a few weeks ago but her biggest nightmare came true and she just had no idea how to break it to him. seojun’s the type to not give a care in the world and is a bit chaotic but it’s okay. if she has to take care of it on her own, it’s okay.

❝…i- seojun.. i don’t know if i can say this..here just take a look at this-❞

she hands him the positive pregnancy test and covers her face, looking down.

Out of all the things he expected her to say, it certainly was NOT this. For once in his life, he’s at a loss for words. For a moment he just sits there and stares at it, that little pink plus sign. The sign that signified everything was about to turn completely upside down for them both. Finally he looks back up at her, ❝you’re...pregnant?❞ 

He knows he should say something, anything else. Should offer her something more than those dumbfounded words, should offer her anything at all. But what could he do? Hell, what could he even say? 

Seojun knows himself, he’s never committed to anything, could barely even take care of himself. He doesn’t know what he could offer her. He takes a deep breath, ❝---what do you wanna do?❞    

❝You said you needed to talk to me about something?❞ He sounds hesitant. To be honest, he doesn’t really know what to expect right now. He feels tense, their relationship was hardly a serious one. Just two people fucking around, in more ways than one. He can’t think of anything that would warrant this kind of urgency and it kind of scares him. 

Seojun liked being around her, he couldn’t deny that. He liked seeing her letting loose and having fun and things were always nice when they were together. However, he’s never been good with this kind of thing. So when Aurelia sends him a cryptic text, saying she needed to talk asap, he can’t help but feel nervous.    

“You’re trying to get me in trouble with Alec, aren’t you? The last time I spent a whole day out-” The last time was when she was still in a relationship. She shook her head. She enjoyed Seojun pestering her, it was kind of a nice normal thing. She missed normal. “Alright, fine. I want to get in trouble, maybe. My brother’s younger, he can’t do anything but scold me a little.” Eden laughed. “We can go anywhere you want, just let me feed you first.”

“Yeah, I guess that’s fair. Everyone’s on their own time, yeah?” Mikey shrugs, another sip of coffee. “There’s got to be a type, though? I mean, give me a celebrity then. If you’re not inclined to dating, there’s gotta be at least somebody that you’d look at and think ‘yes, I’d date them. They’re my ideal human being.’”
