Otherwise known as the jaguar and the leopard, respectively. These two species are most commonly referred to as ‘panthers’ by the public. Neither of these animals appear naturally in the color ‘pink’, so the pink portion must be referring to an abstract concept separate from the animal. That, or, it simply makes the name catchier via alliteration.
