“Get away from me” you hissed at him, obviously annoyed. Such a pain in the ass was this Gojo Satoru. Why did he insist on pestering you about everything and anything? Doesn’t he have anything better to do with his time? Gojo was for sure wasting yours…

As you tried to return to your training, you could feel his intense stare burning in the back of your head. You tried to ignore it, but the longer you tried to avoid it, the more it landed heavy on your chest. And it seemed like the white haired man watching you had no intention of cutting you loose.

“What is it?” you finally asked and turned around. Gojo looked at you from above his round sunglasses and simply shrugged:

“You’re doing it wrong.”

You deadpanned at him: “…excuse me, I’m what?”

“You’re doing it wrong. You’re supposed to position your thumb over and behind your fingers, and don't allow it to rest past them.” Gojo said softly, while taking your hand into his and curling your fingers correctly.

You silently prayed that he wouldn’t notice the heavy blush settling on you cheeks or the way your brows would automatically unfurrow at his soft and comforting touch. Was Gojo even that bar after all?

“See now, Gigi-chan? That’s it, seems like you’ve got it! Good girl…” The moron was trying to fluster you. “Well! I guess that’s it, I should go!” Gojo suddenly started to walk away, just like that.

“Wait!…Do…do you want to train with me?” You can’t believe you said it, you must be insane, truly insane. Your heart was beating faster than ever, almost trying to break through your skin and run straight into his arms.

“I thought you’ll never ask” he smiled.

Even though you two complained about Gojo all the time, Nanami knew the truth behind your words, the ache of you heart and the feelings you harboured for the white haired teen.

“It’s your own fault for ending up in situations like this with that idiot. You’re feeding up his ego with your reactions.”

“As if ignoring him works any better for you” you taunted further.

“Gigi, I’m not the one who secretly, not-so-secretly li-“

“Nanami, if you say another word, I’m sending you to whatever Heaven you believe in.”

“Fine. You’re never listening to me anyway.”

You started to feel a little bad seeing the slight hurt in his eyes.

“Hey, Nanami.” you elbowed him smiling. “what do call a hippie’s wife?”

“What?” The 16 year old looked done with life.

“Missisippi” You waited for his reaction for a few seconds, smiling amused while Nanami processed what you just said”

“Miss-issi—AHHH” Nanami started cackling, small tears forming in the corner of his eyes. “Gi-gi, heh.. you’re… I can’t this is so bad…” He barely contained himself.

“You know you love me.”

“You know you love me, Gigi-chan!!!” Gojo obnoxiously screamed from the other side of the tracks.

“I don’t! *huf* You! *huf* You CHEATED! *huf* WE WEREN’T SUPPOSED TO USE OUR TECHNIQUES!”

“Who said that?! Not me!”

“The Universe. You’re awful!” you pushed his shoulder as you finally reached him. You’ve been training your stamina and resistance for 2 hours now.

“And you’re a sour loser, Gigi-chan…” Gojo laughed lightly at you.

“Am not.”

“Deny as much as you want” he flicked his hand into your direction.

Exhaustion took its toll on you, so you decided to lay on the ground right there and then.

“Heh? What are ye’ doin’?” Gojo asked, squinting his eyes.

“Laying on the grass…Becoming one with nature…” you answered in a tired tone.

“You’re weird.”

“You’re actually saying that? You? Don’t make me laugh Gojo.“ you frowned at the boy and then moved your gaze to the sky.

The night was beginning to settle in, orange and purple hues slowly fading into the blackness. Starless skies catching light little by little above you and still the only one you’d rather look at is Gojo Satoru. Not that you’d ever admit that or act according to your feelings.

“Gigi…Gigi-chan…”

“What?” you answered seemingly annoyed.

“Is the grass comfortable?”

“Don’t be a jackass.”

“Fine, fine. Can I lay down beside you?”

“What?…” It is safe to say that you were more than surprised and incredibly flustered. All the confidence from earlier flew out the window, making space for the loud thump of your heart in the throat.

“Did you hit your head? I asked if I can lay down beside you.”

“U-uhm, you can. Yeah…Sure”

He layed down next to you and took down his glasses, tugging them in his pocket. Bright blue eyes, glowing brighter than the entire night fabric filled with stars, were now watching you and only you, as if you’ve hung the moon for him.

The silence between you was so comfortable, more than you could’ve imagined or wished for. Even for the continuous bickering between you and Gojo, you found yourself enjoying his presence, orbiting around him. It’s like he had this magnetic field around him, helplessly pulling you towards him.

As you got lost inside his eyes, Gojo’s voice snapped you out of your own little reality.

“Gigi…am I…am I that bad? Am I a bad person?”

“Honestly, i don’t think that it matters if a person a ‘good’ or ‘bad’, by the book. Personally, I believe that if a person is trying to be even a little better today than they were yesterday, then that makes them a good person.”

Gojo looked at you in awe.

“A ‘good’ person is not someone who’s this perfect, selfless, flawless person - A good person is anyone who’s trying to be good. someone who is trying. that’s all that matters.”

His eyes started getting watery.

“There are about a billion un-intended consequences to your actions. things you have no control over. But even in these circumstances that we live in today, how complicated, messy and manipulative the world is, a person is trying to be good. Trying to be better.”

“You’re avoiding my question.” he smiled although he was so close to crying, to finally releasing all that hurt and angst pent up in his heart.

“Don’t interrupt me and let me finish. You’ll see where i’m going.” You looked at him and watched him nod so gently. “A ‘bad’ person isn’t someone who looks after themselves, or isn’t ‘the kindest.’ After all this … who’s to say that you aren’t a good person?”

“Well…do you think I am a good person?”

After few seconds of looking directly in his eyes, you smiled so gently, kind eyes softening: “Yes, yes I do.”

Seeing him smile back made you realise what you just said. Getting a little anxious, you fixed your eyes on the sky again, now full of darkness and only illuminated by the street lamps and few stars visible.

“You’re still annoying whatsoever. That doesn’t change.” you pouted, earning a deep, from the heart laughter.

It’s been eleven years and Gojo still looks at you so lovingly, yet full of playfulness and you still get so annoyed on the surface at his antics. The bickering never stopped, which made a lot of people ask “Are they even in love?”.

The answer lays in the matching rings on your fingers.

In the way you hold eachother so tight, like you nevertheless want to let go.

In your dumb and dry dad jokes and the way Gojo laughs at them every time, even if he’d heard them before.
