being an aunt is fun-- especially when your niece decides your face is her canvas

my cousins! I first met them 4 months ago at the end of my first greyhound trip: from Montreal to Vancouver to Portland. The last part was not part of the plan until I was on the bus to Vancouver and realized, "Hey! Portland's close to there and I have family I've never met there who post really awesome hiking photos on facebook!" so I fb messaged Bree and she said, "You need to stay with us!!!!!" so off I went.

"Hey Bree." --Yeah? "That's not.." --What? "...where The Shining was filmed?" --Oh... yeah. "Whaaaat?!! Ahhhh! Raaad!"

my way way waaay awesome host Bree got me outfitted in some rainbow zebra shades & drove me out to Mount Hood for some snowshoeing!

soap/trinkets store in a sleek silver camper. The girl working inside was knitting something so I asked her, "Whatcha makin?"/ "Dirt," she said... strolling down Division I found a dazzling & cozy food truck campground, with 2 stores in busses. I talked to a Portlandian who told me she hasn't made any big life mistakes yet, but she thinks she should.
