maybe then you’ll know (your love is real) (911): Eddie, still reeling from the loss of Christopher, goes to the LA Pride Parade and finds himself unable to continue avoiding the truth about his feelings for Buck.

Other:

Nandor’s hands tighten on the lapel of Guillermo’s jacket. Guillermo - beaten, bloodied, weakened. Always a worthy opponent, this time was no different in skill. But he had fought without passion, as if an actor stepping through a scene - striking in contrast to the passion of the betrayal leading to this, their final battle.

Nandor could crush him with one blow. Steal the air from his lungs and make it so the final vision his eyes would behold would be that of the master he betrayed.

It would not be so difficult, not physically. Not for a vampire such as Nandor. You do not live so long an eternal life if you are not willing to kill for it. To give up things you love for it.

The vampire killer - vampire, Nandor corrects and tightens his grasp on Guillermo - he has cornered is sharp and quick. But he feels guilt - shame - and these feelings that he has, that he so openly wears, these things will lead to his defeat. These emotions have already led to his downfall - the moment he allowed another to drink from him without thinking there would be consequences for such an act.

Maybe his once familiar slips out of this one last time. He could. If anyone could, Nandor thinks, it is Guillermo who could best him. Maybe he, Nandor, will end up on his knees again, a wooden stake to the chest held by his closest friend - his -

It matters not. It all ends the same. They will both die tonight. Who will be first are details of which Nandor cares not to think.

Nandor closes his eyes for a moment to steady himself for the final blow.

“Master, no —“ Guillermo’s whispered plea will not be enough. He knows this.

“Nandor —“ Guillermo tries again, shifting his head to catch Nandor’s eyes. “Let —“ he grits out as he struggles under Nandor’s grip, still powerful in his own right, even now, “me — go. Now!”

Nandor’s hands drop to his side without pause or question. His eyes are still set on Guillermo’s, but clouded with a hazy, faraway stare.

“Fuck.” Guillermo knows. He knows what hypnotizing looks like. He’s seen it done - had it done to himself. Many, many times. But he never - “fuck, fuck.”

What is he supposed to do? There wasn’t a guidebook, and Laszlo hadn’t covered this in any of his experiments. He gave up on Guillermo well before mind control was even a thought. A thought - that’s - that’s all it is, though, right? Taking one thought and replacing it with another? Nandor always did it without a care, he thinks. Clean up one mess, make another.

“You will not hurt me,” Guillermo slows his breath and wills the tremor from his voice away. “You will not hurt me. Say it.”

“I will not hurt you,” Nandor murmurs in response, eyes fixed on Guillermo’s. The dark pools, only moments ago stormy and dangerous, are empty.

“You will not remember I was a vampire.” The confidence in his voice comes with more ease as Nandor stands statue-like still in front of him. But what now? So, he won’t remember he’s a vampire. Load of fucking good that will do - he’ll still be a vampire. He’ll still have been turned by someone other than Nandor. Unless —

“You will get your lamp. You will wish for me to be human.” He spits out the last word - the last thing he wants, the thing he’s tried so hard for so long to change, the curse that he’ll be forced to relive - no more taking the matter into his own hands. He’ll be back at the mercy of Nandor and his timeline for Guillermo’s immortality. The joke with no punchline.
