phoebe had a complicated childhood . her parents while loving were absent and that caused a lot more trauma than she thinks they ever realized . she was desperate to get on her own and pretty much vanished after college .

she was turned by someone she trusted greatly midway through college and she had no clue of well anything in regards to werewolves prior to the experience . it was traumatic and probably an accident but she was left alone and never fully adjusted to becoming a werewolf due to it . 

phoebe became angry and distant , gradually dropped out of school because she didn’t know what to do with her life when she was decently absent for several days a month .

she’s been moving around the country for roughly eight or nine years on a whim but her parents more than likely do not know she is still alive and out there somewhere . she kind of fell off the map and moved from oregon to louisiana . 

with only half of a college degree and a kind of broke bank account phoebe ended up traveling and living out of her van for a while which wasn’t so bad but enjoyed finally being able to settle in and get a normal job . 

her time in new orleans so far has been quite brief but it’s felt more like home than any other places she’s shifted between in the past few years . being around more people like her even within restrictions has made things a bit easier given that she still hasn’t figured the wolf thing out a decade later .

yasha has always loved the idea of her magic and it has been significantly difficult for her to spend so long unable to use it . she has of course , in secret . i’d imagine she was born to an extensive line of witches . she has never seen the essential stripping of her magic had ever been fair but she was not one to ever start a riot over it . 

it leaves her magic unpredictable though , dormant but not dead . it is only there itching to come back , for some uncontrollable burst or impulsive use . sometimes yasha wonders if she used it if it would work or if it would sizzle out between her fingers . 

she was decently happy though . most of her life she was surrounded by good people , she was good . but things were not always so great , it took yasha a long time to be happy with herself and be on her own . she let too many people harm her and she cannot forgive . 

she had a particular ex early in her twenties that completely fucked her up and for a long time it caused yasha to fear allowing someone to hurt her that bad again but she is also so afraid to be alone .
