So, I have an idea for a Romeo and Juliette/Little mermaid crossover.
Benvolio tells Romeo there's other fishes in the sea. Romeo who lives on land, takes it literally amd goes to the sea to party and drink his sadness away. Romeo is standing and staring at the ocean cause he sad, then meets the 'other fish,' Juliette, who is literally half fish. They talk, Romeo plays the guitar-ish thing to her, she sings a song to him and bhoom, they fall in love. Unfortunately Juliette is the daughter of Triton, the ruler of Atlantica and Romeo's dad is the king of land (he's said to be deceased in the animation), and both daddies have been super angry at each other and fighting because how dare you sail you filthy land ships over my Atlantica and how dare the filthy waters from your Atlantica flow to my country's shores.
Since they are in love, Romeo refuses to sail back, and Banvolio is cursing his brain that thought, "There are better fishes in the sea" was a good advice to give to his heart broken, depressed, dramatic friend.
Juliette comes back the next few days, they talk and the people in the ship are helplessly stuck in the ocean because their king's sun loved a fish too much that he refused to eat it. Then one day Juliette comes back with her red crab friend, Friar Lawrence, so that they could get married. Friar Lawrence was the advisor of King Triton and the priest of the underwater holy church. He only came because Juliette trapped him in a jar and threatened him to marry her to Romeo if he did not want to be thrown to the humans and be roasted.
Thus, they get married. Romeo's men thought they'd go back now, but Romeo was like, and leave my wife? How could you?
Juliette's cousin, Tybalt the merman, one day happened to see Romeo and Juliette talking, and gets upset that the enemy's son is talking to his cousin. He waits till Juliette gets back home and goes upto the ship and challenges Romeo to a battle. Since Tybalt is now his mer-cousin by marriage Romeo refuses. But Romeo's hot head friend Mercrutio says hell yeah, I'm suck of doing nothing in the middle of nowhere and jumps into the ocean and tries to fight, but dies, because mermen are stronger on water, duh.
Romeo get really mad and then casts a net, catches Tybalt, who's still half fish in the end and get dragged up into the ship and Romeo kills him. Sebastian, who stayed behind to watch the entire thing, tells King Triton what happened (not the marriage ofc, he's scared if Juliette would eat him herself) and he gets mad and brings in a storm with his magic wand (Trident) and the ship is wrecked. Juliette, with the help of her mermaid nurse, rescues both Romeo and Benvolio (amd the rest dies obviously) and brings them to the shore.
Benvolio doesn't say anything to Romeo's dad about the marriage cause he wanted to be loyal, but Romeo's dad gets mad that Triton nearly killed his son, so he orders his men to kill (with bows and poisoned arrows) any fish/crab/creature that pokes it's head out of the ocean, and the birds that swoop into the ocean to find food. Triton is upset at this, amd sinks any and all ships in the sea.
To distract the mer-people from the turbulent sea, Triton decides to marry off his daughter to another merman, Paris. Juliette does not want to, so she speaks out and goes to Ursula the sea *octopus) witch, who replaces her tail with her legs by taking away her voice.
Romeo, who wants to see Juliette, decides to sneak out and sail a ship on his own, so that he could find Juliette.
Juliette reaches the shore (with the help of her nurse, I'll make that lady a bit more loyal in this fanfiction), Romeo reaches the sea. The nurse leaves her there because mermaid's can't breath on land, and Benvolio who finds Juliette on the shore tells Juliette that Romeo has gone to the sea on his own to find her. Crab Friar Lawrence saw Romeo and told him Juliette sneaked off saying she would definitely see him.
Juliette panics as she knew Romeo can't swim and if her father finds him, he's dead. She begs Benvolio for help, but her voice is gone and Benvolio is confused. In panic, she runs around, goes to a cliff and jumps into the sea, forgetting she can't swim. She hits her head on a rock amd she dies.
Romeo, on the other hand, panics as he knew mermaids can't breath on land, and that if his father saw Juliette, she'll be killed. Convinced that Juliette is killed (amd refusing to hear Friar Lawrence's sensible words), Romeo jumps into the sea and sinks (Lawremce tried to help him but how can a crab save a freaking human from sinking!), not wanting to live in a world without Juliette.
Friar Lawrence tells Triton the whole thing, Benvolio tells Romeo's dad too, they come to a truce and builds each other's kid's statue. The mermaid can't come to land, so Triton can't see his daughter's statue and the humans can't deep dive to Atlantica so Romeo's dad can't see his son's statue.
And that's the end. I'll leave Paris alive cuz I don't have any use with him dying.
