my favorite thing about core lara is how overly polite she can be

in tr1 after she’s finished pumping larson full of bullets she acts really polite to him when asking him questions and very sincerely apologizes for interrupting him (I’m…I’m sorry are we still talking about the artifact here?) like they didn’t just nearly kill each other

this also contradicts with what the haters have been saying about core Lara for years - that she's just a "bitchy ice queen" with no emotion (which is wild but i've seen crystal fans saying that).

core Lara knows exactly when to be polite and friendly. she knows how to use her charisma, even if just to waste the enemy's time and get the information out of them. even if she's holding a gun to your face, she will still have a friendly conversation with you as if you're neighbours chatting over the fence of your backyards.

it's not that she's constantly polite and charming, either. she still has her witty comebacks and snarky comments (and, especially in AoD, she is much more understandably frustrated with everything going on). but she knows exactly when to land them not to sound like a cheesy marvel hero.

on a side note - this is also why Bartoli is my all-time favourite villain. cause he was the only one who didn't exchange a single line of dialogue with Lara for the entire game, like he knew this woman is too charismatic to deal with.
