She barely broke skin before she stopped, thoughts going back to everything Velen had taught her over the years. She desperately wished he was here right now, guiding her as he did. 

Dropping the dagger, the Exarch suddenly flattened her palms against Grommash’s wounds, her fingers glowing with the Light. Yrel knitted his flesh back together, summoning the Light to her aid. She didn’t look up at his face as one part of her mind screamed at her, asking her what she was doing, while the other urged her on. 

“I will be the first to admit that redemption is not in my future, but-”

He pushed his right forearm against the ground, shakily rising onto one knee as his legs quivered uneasily.

“-I would gladly make those who would blaspheme all I’ve fought for atone for their sins.”

Yrel prayed that she would not come to regret this decision. Minutes before, she had been ready to grant him a painful death... For the first time, she contemplated Grommash as an ally. With his help, and his inside knowledge of the Iron Horde, there may be some hope. 

She looked over what remained of his wounds with a discerning eye. His flesh would still be tender, and susceptible to infection. “I will get you some bandages. You can...” She paused, still feeling odd with having a former enemy in her home. “Find somewhere more comfortable than the floor to sit.”

Grommash questioned spitefully, but nonetheless scoffed a response forward.

He traced a bloody scar along his left forearm, cringing at a multitude of nerves coursing through his body.

“They have made slaves of themselves, and they are dead to me.”

The fallen Warsong shook his head, sighing.

“There’s no point in seeing the folly in this crusade. The Iron Horde was doomed from the start, and now they will only put up a greater fight before being put down.”

“I don’t expect any quarter from your people, least of all you… But I would at least favor an honorable death. One I cannot find at the hands of my traitorous kin.”
