will we ever see the end?

Minho wanted to hit himself. And then slap Zero. And then murder every hunter in the vicinity. That would take a lot of time though and he was far too distracted by the arrow sticking out of Zero’s side, And arrow. In his Zero. That was intended to get Minho. After centuries of life it really shouldn’t take him so long to process such events but here he is. He doesn’t fully snap out of his trance until the arrow is on the floor and Zero is talking again. “What the…What the fuck? What could you even use that for? You got shot. Oh fucking heartless god you got shot.” He growls almost at the situation. Even though Zero is fine. And luckily thanks to Zero he himself is fine. “We should have never agreed to camping. It’s shit anyway.”

if they paid attention, they’d probably notice minho stuck in his trance, but they’re so focused on moving them form the hunters and getting the damned arrow out of them that they only really realise how that would’ve effected the vampire when they here him speak. so maybe it wasn’t the best choice of self sacrifice, but well, it was either that or watch their fiance get shot and hurt, and zero wasn’t here for that. “well-- i could use it to kill any hunter that comes near us. give them a taste of their own medicine-- or poison.. there’s definitely poison on this.” they sigh, feeling the sticky coating on their hands and just knowing it was something deadly. “and hey.. hey-- i’m okay. i’m okay, see?” they kiss minho quickly, gently even, smiling for reassurance. “well, i never agreed i got forced on this trip either way but it sucks and we should go on a trip ourselves after this is all over.” they sigh, wrapping them self around minho once more. “but we need to go before they come back-- also sounds bad, but you can use me as a shield. so long as it’s not iron, we’re okay-- it is iron that hurts me, right?”

Minho’s arms are tight around Zero, all of his panic and worry channelling into keeping the other as close as physically possible. “We’ll be safe once we’re locked in our room with no one else around. I have charms on everything in there, nothing can get us.” His eyes are jumping from one place to another. Never focusing on Zero, there’s no time for that. When he sees an opportunity he’s instantly moving them to another hiding spot. Super speed is sadly only so useful when there could be traps everywhere with no clear path to the school. “I’ve been lucky enough to avoid them most of my life. Thought having you at the academy would mean you could avoid them too.”

the unpredictability of the situation scares even zero, someone prided themselves on now having to worry about anything or anyone at all. but this was different. this was enough to panic even them as they cling tightly to minho and listen. “okay.. okay-- that sounds good.” zero could worry about their friends later, but right now all that mattered was getting out of here with their fiance alive and no injuries-- which is easier said than done when they get to their new location and the first thing zero sees an arrow headed right at them and their first instinct is to block minho with their own body. it’s probably the weirdest feeling though when the silver tip sinks into their flesh but no pain or blood accompanies it. instead it just.. feels weird; but it at least gives zero enough time to pull minho out the way so they can deal with the hunter instead of get targeted again. “well-- i guess when you avoid them long enough they tend to creep up,” the grimace, still noting the arrow stuck in their side, but after a moment of so zero manages to make themselves invulnerable for a minute or so to have the dagger drop down, before they’re solid again. and zero does bend down to pick it up. completely silver from tip to tail, and they can tell it’s coated in something else too. “you know.. i can make use of this..”

There isn’t time for a sigh of relief as Minho wraps his arms around Zero. Logically he knows the other is fine, they’re a ghost not much worse can happen than that. But he’s lost Zero once and the fear of it happening again will most likely never leave him “I’m fine, my love. A hunter will have to work bloody hard to get a hit on me.” He places a kiss on their head before fingers gripping their arm and speeding them behind a tree where Minho can get a better look at what’s going on. “We need to be cautious though. Get back to our room and lock the door. There’s more of them than us and I’m not promising anyone’s safety.”

being a ghost probably has it’s perks right about now, especially when your fiance is also the only one that knows where your bones are meaning it’s probably gonna be pretty hard to actually get rid of zero anytime soon-- but it doesn’t mean they can’t still be hurt. but minho was still in the more immediate danger than them, and zero’d be damned if they were going to let anything happen. so zero holds onto him, arms staying firmly wrapped around minho now and keeping them close. “good.. good. i’m glad-- i was worried,” there was no way they couldn’t. “maybe.. if we’re quick enough they won’t spot us. after we get on school grounds we’ll be safe-- right?” zero’s voice is quiet, fingers fiddling with the back of minho’s shirt as they watch the terror unfold in the camp. “i’ve never seen hunters before..”

It had only taken one uttering of the word ‘hunter’ and Minho was out of his post instantly and rushing through the camp. Maybe it made him a bad teacher or just a bad person - what’s new about that though - but he couldn’t waste a moment thinking about the students he was meant to be helping. Not when Zero wasn’t glued to his side. It only took him a minute to get to the part of the camp he knew his fiancee was placed but then came the issue of actually locating the ghost. “Zero!! Come on, where the fuck are you?!”

zero had abandoned his partner as soon as shit had hit the fan, he’d been out of the tent in a heartbeat because curse the one fucking time he decides to give minho some peace, to be the night that hunters attack. he knows he can’t get hurt though, which is why he’d taken to becoming invisible instead, but that also meant he had to find his vampire all the same. he knew minho would be alright, but it didn’t mean he wasn’t scared. so when he hears his name being called. zero practically flies into the other, almost forgetting to become visible again before reminding himself in the last moment. “i was looking for you!” he whines, but there’s an underlying panic to it this time. “are you okay? are you hurt? you’re okay, right?”

             “  UH . GHOST  CODE  !!  ya  know ,  like  bro  code .  but  like ,  for  ghost .  “  she  explains  herself  ,  yaya’s  face  contorting  into  a  look  of  confusion .  puzzled  that  the  other  would  ask  such  a  thing .  &  in  her  own mind ,  it  was  obvious .  however ,  she  was  silenced  as  zero  continues  to  talk .  the  somewhat   expected   response  brings  something  of  a  frown  to  dim  her  features  as  she  can’t  help  but  roll  her  eyes .  “  bruh ,  i  thought  we  were  friends .  that’s  not  cool  man  .  “  she  simply  shakes  her  head,  trying  not  to  show  her  amusement  as  they  stick  their  tongue  out  at  her .  “   if   I’m  a  baby  ghost ,  that  makes  me  like  a  child ,  right  ??  you  shouldn’t  pick  on  kids ,  z .  it’s  bad  for  the  soul  or  some  shit  like  that  . “ 

“no? what’s bro code.. the fuck is that?“ there weren’t many times zero’s age showed jsut because of how playful he was and active, but it was times like these that it really did. because what the fuck was a bro code. but he giggles at her again, wiggling a finger in front of his face, “we are friends, but doesn’t mean i gotta help!“ which was really zero saying that he was a dick and it was funnier to watch her fail that succeed. and he shakes his head again though, grin forming, “nuh uh! you’re a baby ghost, not a child human thing. so i don’t need to help because you can walk and talk yourself, and so you should be able to walk through walls too! and i don’t have a soul.. i thought we knew this already.“

         WITH  DARK  EYES  that  grow  worried ,  mei   looks  to  the  maze  before  her . & ,  for  a  moment  she  regrets  having  volunteered  to  be  the  one  that  had  to  venture  through  the  labyrinth  of  unknowing  twists  & turns .  almost  wanting  to  now ,  ask  her  partner  if  she  could  be  the  observer  to  guide  them  through  the  web  of  complex  passages .  but ,  the  anomalie   is  far  too  timid  to  even  speak  such  thoughts  to  the  ghost  she  had  been  paired  with .  so,  breathing  in  a  deep  sigh  , the  girl  musters  up  the  courage  to  walk  into  the  maze.  it  couldn't  be  too  bad  ,  after  all ,  she  figures  she  has  seen  worse ,  or  been  through  far  worse  than  this .  it  was  supposed  to  be  a  school  activity , therefore,   mei  assumes  everything  should  be  okay .  &  with  that   thought ,  she  brushes  aside  any  anxieties  she  felt within  those  seconds .  bringing  the  walkie-talkie  to  her  mouth ,  she  talks  into  the  speaker .  “ 《 @gnzero  》 ??  um …  which  way  should  i  go  ??  ”

zero didn’t really get the point of all this. it wasn’t like he wanted to be out here doing all these weird things.. the only pro to it was that if he killed someone in the forest then it could be exciting if someone found it during one of their nightly events. now that would be a shock. but with a scolding from minho to not do that because it would come back to minho instead of him, then.. zero is stuck having to actually do what he’s here for and help out. and right now that is apparently guiding his partner through a weird maze thing full of.. things? honestly zero would’ve done it himself, but there was no point when everyone knew zero would just cheat and go through the walls and creatures without a care. so when his walkie talkie crackles to life, the ghost takes a moment of so to look down at the maze and maybe actually try figure this out a little. “if you go forwards until you can’t anymore.. take a right then a left and keep walking until you hit another dead end-- also they said this maze is full of shit so uh.. if vines start to try and pull you into the wall it isn’t my fault! i watched harry potter once, i know how this works!”

This wasn’t a topic the vampire had seen coming up, nor was it something he was particularly prepared for. Now that it was here though he couldn’t quite help the thoughts in his head. Minho only truly had to think about it a moment longer before grabbing Zero’s hand. “Zero, my annoying little ghost, will you do me the honour of having the weirdest and more unorthodox wedding in history with me and marry me?” It wasn’t the most traditional proposal, he probably should have put in the effort to actually get on one knee and there wasn’t an engagement ring, but they never had been a traditional couple. “And considering you will be wearing it forever I suppose I can splurge on getting you a nice fancy ring.”

now.. zero knew that they were talking about this right now and it was the topic of their conversation, but he hadn’t entirely expected minho to propose to him right then and there.. and well, it does have him flushing a little, red tinting his cheeks as he squeezes minho’s hand a little and his dumb grin appears on his face. “i think i will,” he laughs, the smile on his face probably showing his happiness, and it’s definitely the happiest he’s been in a while. this is probably not going to leave his mind either as he peppers kisses once more over minho’s face. “but do you really think i’m annoying?” which brings out the pout once more. “thank you.. and hey, you have enough to get me one. i want it to mean something,” he laughs a little there though as he presses closer to minho contently. his whining and irritating self gone and replaced with his affections.

       &  AS  SOONas  yaya  hits  the  ground  after  failing  to  open  a  door ,  (   instead ,  falling  through  it  ) ,  it  is  a  maniacal  laugh  which  is  heard  throughout  the  hallway .   the  familiar  voice  reaching  the  ghost’s  ears ,  instantly  resulting  in  a  small  groan  to  slip  past  her  lips .  “  bruh  ,  this  shit’s  hard .   “  she  automatically  answers  back ,  looking  to  the  infamous  ghost  before  her .  annoyance  barley  seen  upon  her  face  as  she  gets  up  from  the  floor .  but  her  irritation  is  shortlived  &  quickly  replaced  by  a  small  bit  of  laughter .  “  shouldn’t  there  be  something,  like  in  the   ghost  code  that  says  ,  ‘  help  your  fellow  ghost ,  not  laugh  at  them .  ‘  “   she  sighs ,  arms  crossing  over  her  chest   .  her  face  falling  into  a  light-hearted  frown .  “  plus , i’ve  only  had  a  year   to  try  &  master  this  stuff ,  z .  cut  me  some  slack  ??  “ 

Minho’s hands moved to rest of Zero’s thighs, fingers playing with the hem of their cheerleading skirt as he mulled over the questions. “Maybe.” For others, marriage seemed like a natural progression so surely it should be for them as well. They had already promised forever to each other hundreds of times over why not have a ceremony to further set it in stone? “I don’t really know if there’s such a thing as vampire and ghost marriages or how it would work but maybe we could whip something up that suits us.” A teasing smile takes over him the more he thinks about it. “Or are you just looking for an excuse to get a fancy ring?”

their brow raised at the answer for a moment, though a smile was quickly replacing the expression. they supposed for anyone else, marriage would seem like a big question, but when they’ve been together this long and promises of never leaving each other would last a lifetime and more.. it wasn’t really that strange, they supposed. “who cares if there’s not.. we’ll make it our own thing and fuck everyone else. if we want to get married, who’s stopping us?” they grin, tongue sticking out a little-- but the teasing they get in return brings back the whining from earlier. “no.. i want to be yours forever. it’s romantic and stupid and i want it-- but.. i do want a fancy ring.. you better make it a nice one because i’m never taking it off.” they giggle, burying their face in minho’s neck again.

thrown off a bit by his closeness, noori could only avert her gaze for a moment before she looked him over once again. while she knew plenty of other ghosts, none had really been like zero. they weren’t friends, per say, but she had passed him by enough to know his name, face and well – how insane he could be, which she supposed was all she needed to know. raising a hand, she brushed a bit of the dried blood off of his forehead, frowning slightly as she did so, not at all frightened by his wild eyes – after all, she was already dead what more did she have to fear? in all honesty, she worried about the other ghost, wondered what happened in his life… or more so towards the end of it, to make him act the way he did. perhaps she was lucky? maybe it was a good thing she couldn’t remember her own murder death, after all? with a sigh, she lowered her hand and looked at him with a calm expression, one that showed she was unphased by his actions.

“so is murder and yet…” she began before waving it off, crossing her arms afterward. “you know, they’ll find a way to get you to move on if they catch you looking like this; c’mon, we have to clean you up.” with that, she uncrossed her arms and offered him a soft smile. noori knew that she shouldn’t care what happened to him, that it would probably be safer if they got rid of him, but she couldn’t help but feel bad. she knew what it was like and despite how… different the two of them may have been, it was still in her nature to lend a hand.

he moves to fall back when she raises her hand, but he stops when he feels her brushing away the dried blood. that makes him frown, face scrunching up. most people would be too discussed to do anything like that, after all. but noori is a ghost just like him, so he supposes that there isn’t really much to be disgusted or scared by anymore. “murder isn’t rude. it’s unforgivable,” he grins, knowing it’s definitely the kind of thing that would get him sent to hell. but well, that won’t be happening any time soon, and it’s why he laughs at her words in return and shake his head. “sweetheart, the only way to get me to move on is to burn my bones, and that won’t happen. i’ve been here long enough that this is merely a slight inconvenience to school now whenever i kill on campus.” which is the truth of it all, or sad truth for anyone unlucky enough to cross him at these times. no one could move him on when he’s glued to this earth for many reasons, and it wasn’t easy when his boyfriend guards his bones and zero doesn’t even know where the hell they are either. so he’s safe.

—《 ❀ 》 ❝ you’re right ❞ , he replies to the other, goosebumps beginning to decorate his arms. ❝ i can tell the difference. why are you walking around with it coated all over you, though ? are you looking to get caught ? ❞ wonjae is careful to keep his body language in check as the ghost approaches, eyes still on the way ahead.  ❝ how long have you been a ghost, if you don’t mind my asking. you aren’t one of mine, so before you say anything, no i don’t already know.” finally, his gaze is shifted to the other,  ❝ i assume you’re soon to add another year to your belt, yeah ? normally ghosts who’ve been stuck for a long while tend to end up like this, even more so when their anniversary is approaching — do you have anyone who mourns you ? ❞ it’s a question he asks with a good heart, though he knows it’s intrusive. maybe he can do some of his research, go pay his respects and leave a rose or two. the reaper knows a difference won’t be made, but it’s the thought that counts.  ❝ and unfortunately, i’m not able to do that. i haven’t been assigned to her yet, which means i can potentially end up stepping on another reaper’s territory. plus, i’m kind of in time out, so to speak. which means i can’t do much, even if i wanted to. ❞

his expression darkens a little, smile a little bit more sinister than it was before. “because this got a little.. messy. caught? it doesn’t matter if i’m caught, they can’t do anything about it and they don’t anymore.” he giggles. it was true, he’d been caught many times, and so long as he didn’t massacre half the school, zero is pretty sure that they’ve given up on him. if anything, minho probably has to deal with the consequences more than he does. “seventy something yea, i dunno and i don’t care-- good, i don’t wanna be one of anyones and if i am it just means they fucked up their job.” and wasn’t that true? he should be in hell right now, but he’s not. so surely someone fucked up.. but not for him, because since he was still here it meant he could have a great afterlife doing whatever the hell he wanted with his favourite person in the world. “you’re right-- end up like this? no. i was always like this, don’t try saying i’m like this because i’m a fucking ghost.” his expression twists, voice going from at least sounding mildly pleasant and overly happy to dark and low, growling it out a little. zero had always been insane, and his emotions were usually a finicky situation on his good days. today, it was just a lot worse. it’s why the witch was dead right about now probably. “mourns me?” he doesn’t like that word, and it probably shows when he’s now glaring at the reaper rather than smiling, even if it was still an insane look. but it’s obvious to anyone now that the ghost isn’t happy. “you’re like dogs,” the giggle is back again, a sure sign of how easy it was for him to change. “dogs too scared to cross each others when your territory is marked-- like werewolves. they’re funny creatures. you’re a funny creature.. you’d be fun to dissect i think..”

☀ ー kyungsun blinked slowly at zero, holding his bag closer. he didn’t like to admit it, but he was jumpy, and he hadn’t been expecting the ghost to be around, usually, he could see the other coming. but that was what kyungsun gets for being lost in his mind.

“is it allowed. is it.” he asks dryly, even if he does like zero, he’s annoyed whenever he ends up in the crossfire of one of zero’s antics and is actually affected by them. usually, he can shrug them off. “nothings wrong. is there something wrong with you.”

zero’s giggle is back when he watches how tightly he holds that bag, how he looks at him and acts now that zero’s spooked him. it was always funny to him, jumping out on people, kyungsun included even if he wasn’t necessarily the victim.

“yup.“ and that was all that needed to be said about that anyway. so long as zero was happy, having a grand old time he might add, then he didn’t give a shit about anything or anyone else, honestly. “nope, but you’re the one acting like there’s something wrong. get a little spooked, huh?“ he grins, leaning closer to him, “you’re so funny when you get freaked out.“

A laugh pushed past the vampire’s lips at the question. It was almost like magic how quickly Zero was able to turn him from being grumpy and annoyed to completely calm. One day he’d understand it but not quite yet. “We’re only just coming onto seven decades, darling. That’s nothing compared to eternity. We’re practically still in the honeymoon phase, of course, we miss each other all the time.” The kiss was almost too easy to fall into though that should come as no surprise. He wasn’t really kidding with his words. Their time together had been so little to other lovers Minho had had over his lifetime but there was a difference with Zero. He planned to stay with Zero forever.

zero liked to take pride in how they effected minho. how they could make the other both react to them, or change attitude wise. it made them happy really. there’s a small giggle at the reply zero gets back from the vampire. “for you that’s true.. but you’re used to that. i’m not.” they giggle, placing another kiss to minho’s cheek. “if we’re still in the honeymoon phase can we go on a trip soon?” well.. whenever they thought honeymoon, they thought vacations, yup. but also marriage, and that was an interesting concept. “we need to get married before we enter that phase though.. is this your way of hinting you wanna marry me?” they tease, tongue sticking out and eyes forming small crescents.
