SJM interview TRANSCRIPT
SJM's been planting hints in acosf and cc1 (question of the day: how blind am I to not see the hints in acosf)
WILL EXPLAIN HOW THE WORLDS CONNECT WITH EACH OTHER IN CC2
okay sjm said the hints in acosf includes the eight pointed star
(also you all im literally crying rn im that excited oh my gosh)
the world that kicked out the Asteri IS THE WORLD WHERE RHYS AND FEYRE LIVES
in acosf there's talk about a group of people who lived in Prythan before Rhys and the bunch ("the overlords and the high fae)-- they're the ones who kicked the Asteri out
we'll find out more abt the eight point star
cc3 will have NON STOP REVEALS AND CONNECTIONS
CC3 picks up right off where CC2 leave off cuz sjm can leave us hanging bahahahaha
first draft is split between acotar and midgard
"book three is going to be so long... maybe my longest book ever"
"you'll see what happens with Ruhn and Day" (im sqealing)
"you should be worried [about Ruhn in the dungeons]"
"what goes on in the dungeons might be too much.. I'll see what my editors say about it"
"poor Ruhn and Hunt and Baxian" (im scared for my babies)
confirmed Aelin sees Rhys and Feyre in KoA
The "star" (Aelin) Rhys sees gets fully mentioned in CC3 (im crying even harder now so exicted omigosh)
Rhy's already been thinking about them not being alone in the universe.. he been "kinda of ready but not really for it"
Bryce from a modern world with technology in a world without it (sjm's biggest concern is "toilet paper" and "that" (im assuming how people in acotar shit) will be answered in cc3
Hunt's lineage and bat wings and angel wings will all get explained in cc3
I KEEP CRYING
"avengers level crossover"
"how they get along and DONT get along"
"Nyx definitely features...so far... in book three" (dont cut Nyx out im beggin)
timeline could shift a little but Bryce falling through the world happened around six months after silver flames ("so Nyx is still like a little baby")
Will see everyone being very protective of baby Nyx
“Who else can open up gates to” “That is a big question” (suggestive expression😉)
NO BUT SJM’S LOOK WHEN Katherine mention WYRM GATES asdfghjkl
cc3 will be released in 18 months to 2 years
“Set up for future books..future acotar or cresent city books” (I’m waitingggggg)
Sjm be nodding so enthusiastically when Katherine said “im sure their be new people for us to meet” and “shifting perspectives from Nesta’s perspective to Feyre” asdfghjkl
We have a title!!!

i present the formula for creating excellent/strange insults:
adjective + curse word + noun
no one asked for your opinion, you abominable shit goblin
i fail to understand how you’ve become such a reprehensible fuck waffle
get out of my way, you sorry excuse for an intolerable ass pastry
i cannot believe that such an illiterate twat truck could ever be remotely polite
maybe if you weren’t such a troublesome goddamn elbow, we could get some things done around here
i see no one has reblogged my post. is it because you undeserving fuck llamas are afraid of the truth

Looking forward to the upcoming Dragon Age game so I can meet the next mage who will inevitably betray my very easily handed out trust. :)

Miguel: Like he said.
Miguel: Stars!
Miguel: Can't do it!
Miguel: Not today!
Vinzini: HE DIDN'T FALL? INCONCEIVABLE!
Inigo: You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
“Rhys looked them each in the eye, even my sisters, his hand brushing the back of my own. ‘Do you want the inspiring talk or the bleak one?’ he asked. ‘We want the real one,’ Amren said. Rhys pushed his shoulders back, elegantly folding his wings behind him. ‘I believe everything happens for a reason. Whether it is decided by the Mother, or the Cauldron, or some sort of tapestry of Fate, I don’t know. I don’t really care. But I am grateful for it, whatever it is. Grateful that it brough you all into my life. If it hadn’t … I might have become as awful as that prick we’re going to face today. If I had not met an Illyrian warrior-in-training,’ he said to Cassian, ‘I would not have known the true depths of strength, of resilience, of honor and loyalty.’ Cassian’s eyes gleamed bright. Rhys said to Azriel, ‘If I had not met a shadowsinger, I would not have known that it is the family you make, not the one you are born into, that matters. I would not have known what it is to truly hope, even when the world tells you to despair.’ Azriel bowed his head in thanks. Mor was already crying when Rhys spoke to her. ‘If I had not met my cousin, I would never have learned that light can be found even in the darkest of hells. That kindness can thrive even amongst cruelty.’ She wiped her eyes as she nodded. I waited for Amren to offer a retort. But she was only waiting. Rhys bowed his head to her. ‘If I had not met a tiny monster who hoards jewels more fiercely than a firedrake … ‘A quiet laugh from all of us at that. Rhys smiled softly. ‘My own power would have consumed me long ago.’ Rhys squeezed my hand as he looked to me at last. ‘And if I had not mete my mate …’ His words failed him as silver lined his eyes. He said down the bond, *I would have waited five hundred more years for you. A thousand years. And if this was all the time we were allowed to have … The wait was worth it.* He wiped away the tears sliding down my face. ‘I believe that everything happened, exactly the way it had to … so I could find you.’ He kissed another tear away. And then he said to my sisters, ‘We have not known each other for long. But I have to believe that you were brought here, into our family, for a reason, too. And maybe today we’ll find out why.’ He surveyed them all again—and held out his hand to Cassian. Cassian took it, and held his other out for Mor. Then Mor extended her other to Azriel. Azriel to Amren. Amren to Nest. Nesta to Elain. And Elain to me. Until we were all linked, all bound together. Rhys said, ‘We will walk onto that field and only accept Death when it comes to haul us away to the Otherworld. We will fight for life, for survival, for our futures. But if it is decided by that tapestry of Fate or the Cauldron or the Mother that we do not walk off that field today ….’ His chin lifted, ‘The great joy and honor of my life has been to know you. To call you my family. And I am grateful—more than I can possibly say—that I was given this time with you all.’ ‘We are grateful, Rhysand,’ Amren said quietly. ‘More than you know,’ Rhys gave her a small smile as the others murmured their agreement. He squeezed my had again as he said, ‘Then let’s go make Hybern very ungrateful to have known us, too.’”

“*‘Something?’* Lucas said, his lips starting to curve. ‘You describe this as *something*?’ Dorian shrugged a little sheepishly. ‘I didn’t know how to say it.’ Laughing, Lucas wrapped his arms around his neck and hauled him close. Dorian went, returning the hug as fiercely as it was given. When he felt wet against his neck, he realised his alpha – his *friend* – was crying for joy for him. And damn, fuck, he was crying, too. Drawing back, Lucas grabbed his face in his hands again, kissed him. It was hard, fleeting, and it held the power of the entire pack, Lucas’ veins pulsing with the energy that was DarkRiver. And that energy spoke to his leopard, told it that it was home, that it was welcome, that there was no cause to fear.”

“I love you, Kaia Luna.’ Never had he spoken those three words to a lover. ‘With all of the man I am, the good and the bad, the mistakes and the glories. I love you to the depths of my being, and if tomorrow I don’t wake as me-‘ She pressed her finger to his lips. ‘Don’t.” A shaken word, a fresh wave of tears streaking down her cheeks. Kissing those fingers, he tugged them away gently. ‘No matter what tomorrow brings,’ he said, ‘know that I, Bowen Adrian Knight, belong to you for however long I exist as myself.”

Tips for Writing a Difficult Scene
Every writer inevitably gets to that scene that just doesn't want to work. It doesn't flow, no matter how hard you try. Well, here are some things to try to get out of that rut:
1. Change the weather
I know this doesn't sound like it'll make much of a difference, but trust me when I say it does.
Every single time I've tried this, it worked and the scene flowed magically.
2. Change the POV
If your book has multiple POV characters, it might be a good idea to switch the scene to another character's perspective.
9/10 times, this will make the scene flow better.
3. Start the scene earlier/later
Oftentimes, a scene just doesn't work because you're not starting in the right place.
Perhaps you're starting too late and giving too little context. Perhaps some description or character introspection is needed before you dive in.
Alternatively, you may be taking too long to get to the actual point of the scene. Would it help to dive straight into the action without much ado?
4. Write only the dialogue
If your scene involves dialogue, it can help immensely to write only the spoken words the first time round.
It's even better if you highlight different characters' speech in different colors.
Then, later on, you can go back and fill in the dialogue tags, description etc.
5. Fuck it and use a placeholder
If nothing works, it's time to move on.
Rather than perpetually getting stuck on that one scene, use a placeholder. Something like: [they escape somehow] or [big emotional talk].
And then continue with the draft.
This'll help you keep momentum and, maybe, make the scene easier to write later on once you have a better grasp on the plot and characters.
Trust me, I do this all the time.
It can take some practice to get past your Type A brain screaming at you, but it's worth it.
So, those are some things to try when a scene is being difficult. I hope that these tips help :)
