hey hey!! sorry iâve been inactive. i got carried away with writing a fangan ronpa story, but i return! replies will be done shortly, but muse is being selective right now.
also, as a note, atsuko is going to be removed from the muse list. any threads with her right now will be continued but no new threads will be made. sorry!! a new muse is going to be introduced soon to replace her.
âI didnât take you as the hippie type, but it looks like I might reconsider.â
Seriously? Did she not realize he didnât care about knowing facts about the animal kingdom? If he did, he wouldnât need to listen to her anyway.
âNo, you donât need to tell me for the 80th time that youâre âprettyâ. And like I said to you so many times before, just because you say and repeat it, doesnât make it true!â
God, she was grating. Did she not learn from last time?
âI am not a hippie! God, I am anything but a hippie! I just think animals are...um, theyâre...nonjudgmental! Unlike you who judges everyone probably. Seriously, we arenât in the Olympics or some shit.â
Sheâs not lying, but she also canât bring herself to admit that she finds animals completely and utterly cute. Not to mention her beloved Cookie thatâs waiting for her at home.
âI am pretty though! I am! People say I am so I am! Thatâs...Thatâs all there is to it, asshole!â
âOh, really?â
Well that made him feel a bit better (along with her cheery and friendly personality).
What made him feel even better than that was her willingness to help him. He smiled and nodded at her question.
âIt would be very kind of you to help me find it, thank you!â
He points down the hallway towards where she had came.
âWell, I was going to check the courtyard next since I read there a lot.â
âYeah! It takes two to tango, so to speak. It takes two to cause a tumble!â
Simply offering a head nod and a determined spark in her eyes, Umeko looked to where he pointed and tilted her head. There was a courtyard? Well, goes to show how much Umeko knew about this school.
âOkay, letâs go then! So, since weâre going to be book search buddies, whatâs your name? Mine is Umeko Tachibana, itâs lovely to be of your acquaintance, sir!âÂ
As much as he hated excuses, that was at least better than what he had thought. What could this personâs talent be that kept them in the country and away from mainstream media? Something with biology, it seemed, and things under rocks? Insects, perhaps? Or crustaceans? Either way it wasnât something related to his business, and apparently not something they wanted to go into detail about either. Most students were fairly open about their talents, unless for some reason they had been bullied for it, or had anxiety naturally. While he was slightly curious about the details, it wasnât enough to make him push for the information.
âI suppose Iâll accept that for now, but I wonât accept it if we meet again. Youâd best do some research on myself and my company if youâd like us to get along. You seem like a sensible person, compared to some of the students around here. Donât ruin the good impression youâve made by being more stubborn than necessary.â
Was he being for real? He wanted them to research him and his company just so they could talk to him again?! Wow, this kid had an ego problem or something if he seriously expected them to comply with that. In fact, they think that theyâre going purposefully not do that. If he wants them to know about him and his darn company then heâs going to tell them himself! They donât go up to people and say that if they want to know their favorite flavor of lollipop, they have to do research. Naomi has never been one for following peopleâs instructions or dealing with jerks who think they can boss them around. This kid wasnât the only one who came from a famous family.
âNo. Iâd rather not. After all, you probably should have recognized my name as well. It was all over the news two years ago and even before that. If you want me to know about your company, tell me about it. If you want me to know about you, tell me about you. You didnât know about Naomi Tomoe, the only child of Aiko and Jirou Tomoe, so I donât know a thing about Byakuya Togami, heir to some company. I believe that this is how forming bonds works.â

Despite the girlâs kind words, no matter what was said the damage was done, and Shiori was utterly embarrassed. Not only had she bumped into someone but she had caused them to spill their own drink while hers stayed perfectly intact, nothing short of a miracleâand she was glad even if she felt a bit guilty, as she wasnât sure she could stand brewing another cup of the bitter drink. Quickly placing the thermos on the counter and tightly screwing on the lidâshe wouldnât allow herself to make another careless mistake, not nowâshe then turned her attention to the more important matter at hand and followed after the girl, gathering up a bunch of paper towels and mopping up the mess the best she could. Even so the floor would still be sticky so she took a few more towels and doused them in soap and water, then went over where the spill had been once more; repeating the process one last time with a dry paper towel she hoped that the worst of the mess had been cleaned up, and that no one would be at risk of slipping or getting their shoes covered in energy drink.Â
Now that she had been able to help, thoughâŚShiori found herself in a bit of a dilemma. The girl seemed sweet, if not a bit tired, not unlike herself; while she had made this awful coffee for a reason she wanted to stay a bit longer and make sure she was alright, and she was sure that her boyfriend could stand to wait. After all, it would be incredibly rude to just run off after causing such a mess, and the last thing she wanted was to ruin someoneâs morning. Keeping her eyes on the floor a bit longer, her face seemed to burn with the intensity of a thousand suns, causing her pale skin to become an interesting shade of red. It took her a few moments before she could look the girl in the eye, but once she did she was nothing but apologeticâperhaps too much so.
âN-No, I insistâŚI shouldâve put a lid on my thermos, and I shouldâve watched where I was goingâŚI really am sorry. Isâis there any way I can make it up to youâŚ? I think we were able to clean up the spill, butâŚwould you like me to buy you another energy drink? I really wouldnât mind, and itâs the least I can doâŚâÂ
Atsuko was fully prepared for the lovely task of attempting to clean up a sticky drink, sleep deprived, and having almost never done it before. In fact, she had only mopped something up by herself maybe once or twice back home and since coming to the school she hadnât had to clean anything up. It wasnât that she was exceptionally good at cleanliness (if anything she was a bit above average), it was just that she didnât feel confident enough in cleaning something up to the level it should be.Which was why she was surprised to see that black haired girl who had startled her get paper towels and begin to clean up Atsukoâs mess. She even got wet ones and soaped them up to clean up the stickiness!
Looking at the girl with slightly parted lips and a wide eyed expression, she looked the other over. She seemed upset at herself which was understandable, she had just partially caused her to drop her energy drink on the floor. However, wasnât it kind of both of their faults? They were both tired, probably, and they were both not paying attention to their surroundings very well. In an act that was very unlike herself, Atsuko put on a slightly annoyed expression. Why didnât this girl let her clean up the mess herself? It was her spill! She should have cleaned it up! When the other began to speak, she noticed her expression slip up and immediately set her face back to its happy default look.
âItâs really okay. You and I both did not see each other. We both startled the other so weâre both at fault! Donât worry about it. As for the energy drink, donât worry. I have a whole pack up in my room for late nights. If you really want to make it up to me, if that liquid in your thermos has a high caffeine content and/or is incredibly strong, can you tell me what it is so I can order some from somewhere? Iâm always looking for new late night solvers.âÂ
âP-Performers?â she repeated with a slight stammer, absolutely incredulous; while it had become more and more apparent that several students at Hopeâs Peak were just oblivious and didnât care much for the world around them, this was an entirely new level of absurdity. Indignation swept over herâto think that her and her brother were performers of all things, how appallingâand she couldnât help the venom in her voice as she said, âPerhaps you should pay more attention to the news, then; willful ignorance is not very becoming. You should be grateful Iâm even willing to tell you who I am at this point, as you should know alreadyâand make no mistake; Iâm not going to repeat myself. Iâm Byakuren Togami, heiress to the Togami Conglomerate.â
It took every ounce of willpower that she had to not walk away then and there; patience was a virtue that she did not have, and yet there was still some small, silly hope in her heart that upon hearing her name this person would somehow recognize her. After all, the two of them had worked incredibly hard to become recognizableâwas this how their effort was rewarded? Now that she thought about it, she shouldnât have to put up with thisâbut she was stuck waiting for an answer, one that would likely never come. If all else failed she could simply turn back to her work and ignore this imbecile, and her icy eyes were already straying to the computer screen in front of herâŚ
Well, obviously they were not performers. Naomi could assume that much based on how offended or shocked she looked. Though, with all the drama the other was putting into her expression and tone, they felt almost bad that she didnât go into that field. âWillful ignoranceâ. Well, wasnât that funny. If anything, Naomi felt as though they were one of the least ignorant people in Japan. Though, maybe they should pay a bit more attention to those whom were of a high social standing. That would probably save them some drama. In fact, that would probably save them a lot of drama.
âMmm, thank you for the suggestion. I canât say whether or not Iâll take it though. I really donât care for knowing who famous people are. I honestly have better things to do. Plus, I think everyone should be treated equally. I donât like treating people differently based on their status. Iâve had enough of that back in the day, thanks. A pleasure to meet you, Togami-san.â
Naomi was one of those folks who just didnât like knowing who people were beforehand. If there were hardships, then Naomi would hear them from the horseâs mouth. Itâs why they had stayed away from journalists and the like back when they were famous. Man, looking back on it now, how long had it been since they...? Must have been two or three years by now.
âWhen would needless facts about animals become important to me? In fact, why is that so important to you?â
What in hell. Thatâs all he could think of.
âSaying over and over again youâre the most âgorgeous personâ on the planet doesnât actually make you that. It just makes you even more obnoxious.â
âFigures you wouldnât understand. Animals are important things in our world  and help keep things balanced! Hell, weâre technically animals! We should all try to know a little about the life we share the planet with.â
Ai isnât surprised he doesnât know anything about animals. Idiots usually donât.
âI donât care! People should know Iâm pretty! If they canât tell it themselves like you then I need to tell them! Iâm beautiful! Itâs a fact! Believe it or be wrong!â
Well, at least this one had answered his question easily enough, and inquired about him fairly politely. Really, was he even surprised that people here didnât recognize him at this point? It was ridiculous, obviously, but it must be something to do with the type of people who made it to Hopeâs Peak Academy. Being so dedicated to their talents, they clearly tuned out everything else, including common knowledge that any accomplished person would have. Shameful, but he was getting tired of getting indignant every time some younger student was oblivious to his status.Â
âNot exactly, although I am a book lover. Iâm Byakuya Togami, SHSL Heir. Iâd say âyouâve probably heard of me,â but clearly thatâs not the case. It seems most of the students here have spent their days living under their own individual rocks, rather than learning about the world around them.â
Oh gosh, this kid was laying it on thick, wasnât he? Seriously, just because someone didnât know who you were didnât mean they lived under a rock! It just meant they had other things to pay attention to or really just didnât care about things like peopleâs statuses. Naomi was both of those combined. They were usually busy doing field work or writing another observation journal. They didnât have time to waste reading about rich people, they had better things to do and worry about. His name didnât even ring a bell.Â
âI see. Nice to meet you, Togami-san. Excuse me for not knowing of you, I spend a lot of time looking under rocks for my job. Iâm outside in nature a lot, learning about the world around me. Also, I donât live in metropolitan areas. I live on the countryside. Iâm not near places where the media matters.â
6 people dare to approach
Yuka pouted. There was a major dilemma for her here. On one hand she could really use the help (especially since her adoptive parents were coming to visit and theyâd have WAY too many questions if she showed up like this). On the other hand, she had way too much pride to admit that she needed that help or that she was in a lot of pain. She crossed her arms and sighed, looking away from the newcomer.
âWellâŚwhat are you wanting in exchange for this âhelpâ. I mean the stuff Iâve got isnât top notch but itâs all I got man.â She held the left side of her jacket open, pointing to a hidden inner pocket which probably held somethingâŚslightly illegal. Itâs not like she expected to get any help without something in return after all.
Seeing the other look away from her, Mai let out a sigh of her own and rolled her eyes. She was one of those people, wasnât she? The ones who thought mankind was evil and everyone had something they wanted from you if they so much as told you that you looked pretty that day. The other girlâs words all but confirmed her worries and she pinched the bridge of her nose.
âI donât want anything other than to help you. Seriously, Iâve got no ulterior motives or whatever. I just wanna help you wrap that nose of yours. Also, I really hope that you arenât offering me something that probably shouldnât be on school grounds and my sister would kill me for having. This further proves Iâm just here to help.â

The boy gave a sigh of relief after hearing that she was alright. Hurting someone (or alternatively, getting on their nerves) was not something he wanted to do, especially during his first week of being here.
âAh what a relief. I really should have been paying more attention.â
He stood there for a second and mulled over what she said. What had he been doing before thisâŚ
âOh! I umâŚmay have lost a very important book I borrowed. I just checked in the library but it wasnât there so Iâm retracing my steps. Sorry, it must be strange to see someone so frazzled over something like a bookâŚâ
He looked away, a little embarrassed about this first impression he was making. He probably looked like a real fool.
Getting up and brushing herself off, Umeko offered him a small smile. He was a bit of a jumpy one, wasnât he? As if to assure him she was okay though, she spun in her spot.
âI believe weâre both at fault. Donât blame yourself for all of this, okay? I wasnât paying attention either, after all.â
She genuinely did mean this. She always felt awful when people blamed themselves entirely for something she shared blame in, even the smallest bit. In this case, the blame was to be evenly spread.
âOh? A book? Thatâs terrible! Do you need help finding it? Itâs never strange to be frazzled over a book! I would be too! Youâre retracing your steps, right? Please allow me to help you!â
âHow would one even know that to begin with? No normal person has multiple facts about a useless bird because it doesnât pertain to anything!â
Who ACTUALLY cares about a birdâs IQ? Even for Ai, that was a little ridiculous!
âExcept youâre not. Listen, Iâm not in the mood for another argument about your ego, just accept the fact youâre not all that and donât have a tantrum, and weâre good.â
âMaybe if you looked at something other than something conventional, you would know a little something about the world that you didnât before! Go and smell the roses, moron!â
It was not her fault that she had every issue of National Geographic that was published since her third birthday.
âBlah, blah, blah! I am! Suck it up and go towards the light of revelation! I am the most gorgeous girl and/or person on that planet! Iâm not in the mood for another argument either, but you keep making false ass claims!â
âYouâre comparing me to a bird? What does that even imply?!â
Heâs less irritated and just downright puzzled. What did a âkakapoâ have to do with anything?! How did she even know what that was?!
âThe thing is, while youâre okay looking, youâre not as captivating as you act. The fact you have to have your feet kissed makes you even more undesirable.â
âHmph, figures you wouldnât know. Kakapos are thought to be one of the dumbest animals on the planet as of now. You, though, might be dumber than that.â
She is almost ashamed that he doesnât know that. She is ashamed that he doesnât know a birdâs IQ and that is completely sensible!
âBut. I. Am. I am the most beautiful girl on the planet! I am much more than okay. I am a beautiful and perfect and stunning woman who deserves to be appreciated! I donât need my feet kissed, but they should be! I deserve it!â
âI can refuse you. I just donât want to deal with you wailing about how I didnâtâ
She may think sheâs got him down but it wasnât true in the least. The only thing sheâs successfully done to him is annoy him.
âWell then it suits me being in the presence of you. My face is simply mirroring your ugliness.â
So basically, a fancy way of saying Ai is ugly.Â
âYouâre ridiculous! You canât refuse to help me! Thatâs stupid! And I donât wail! I let my opinions and emotions be known, asshole. Honestly, what are you? A kakapo?!â
How she knows what that animal is, Alexander will never know. That may make her seem semi-humane and an actual person as opposed to a walking superiority complex.
âWhat...the hell did you just say to me?! Iâm not freaking stupid I know what you implied! I am beautiful! The epitome of all forms of beauty and attractiveness! How dare you imply or say that Iâm not! You really are dumb as a kakapo!â
Alexander turned, to be met with the ever so pleasant appearance of Ai. What a joy.Â
âWhy should I do this exactly?â
To be far, he was being as petty as she was. He simply stood there, standing, before sighing and reluctantly retrieving the dish for her. He put it down on a nearby counter and looked towards, her annoyed.
âBecause I told you to. Duh. You canât refuse me, itâs like telling a deity face to face that you wonât pray to them while belonging to their faith. Just do it, idiot.â
Smirking to herself, Ai watched Alexander obediently retrieve the dish for her and placing it down near her. Perfect, two meetings in and she already had hi under her thumb. Well, she thought that until he looked at her with a bothered expression.
âWhat? Seriously, youâre making your face uglier than it usually is.â

âHey! You! I know you, Ponytail. I want you to do something for me and youâre gonna fucking do it, okay? Good. So, what youâre gonna do for me is tell me why the hell youâre just standing there while I am obviously struggling.â
She says this with her fingers splayed as her nail polish dries, attempting to reach a dish on the top shelf. Ai can obviously reach it, but she doesnât watch to smudge her nails.
