Mandalorians needing to communicate in basic or the local language because linguistic drift is so severe they can't understand each other's dialects of Mando'a. Mandalorians engaging in the time honored tradition of ferociously arguing about whose dialect is "purest" and closest to the original because most ancient historical records were lost in the Dral'han, and therefore the answer is unverifiable. Mando'a words being so deeply integrated into dozens of completely different local languages on the worlds the Mandalorians once conquered that nobody there even remembers anymore that they're borrowed. Mandalorians visiting those worlds all these thousands of years later being really surprised and confused that they can't understand anything else but understand These Specific Words and Phrases perfectly. This headcanon makes, overall, much more sense than the claim Mando'a had very little linguistic drift. You're telling me the language of a culture that absorbed many different cultures remained unchanged? Have you ever looked closely at, um, Englishes?!
