Sorry for the late update. I’ve decided to do these reviews on weekends now that I’m busy with work. Thank you for being understanding.

Yo, sorry that I’m late with this review. Work has been tiresome so I took a break. I hope you enjoy this review!

Oh boy, Ai played Judgment Arrows. He’s essentially brandishing the murder weapon that killed his friends to defend himself. Interesting.

Ai’s situation is basically a battle-weary soldier who won a war with major consequences. He’s essentially traumatized, cynical and jaded but still maintains that old, goofy self of his. He lost everything dear to him and he’s taking it out on the world.

I...am not a fan of the reasoning speech between BM and Ai. BM’s situation is pretty much an outsider entering the battlefield with a weapon that isn’t hers but is still capable of handling herself. I understand her guilt though. She basically lost that weapon and is feeling guilt over it. She can’t return it anymore and is stuck with the fact that it’s gone forever.

I’m...actually liking this tag duel more than BS and GG’s. Maybe it’s because they’re not speed dueling, so the animation quality and such is handled better? Hm.

Hey, Akira’s dueling again, so that’s cool.

I’m intrigued about next week. Maybe that dragon is the Water Ignister.

Little details that I like:

1. The flashback with Miyu. It’s cute seeing their reunion. Also, her words intrigue me. I feel like Miyu saw everything that happened while comatose because of her connection with Aqua.

Ai, don’t jinx the Nabee card! It may soon exist and then be the most OP and broken card that it will become the next Firewall Dragon!!!

Anyways, I find it amusing that the first, present day, real-life duel is between two robots.

Pandor’s Topologic Deck is quite interesting where it focuses on banishing and gaining counters to burn down damage. It’s like a hybrid burn damage deck in a sense?

As each episode goes by, I keep losing hope that the LIV will play a role in this season.

The duel was massively underwhelming, but I did enjoy seeing a tag duel, so that’s a good part. The preview practically spoils the victor of Go vs Ai. (Psst, Ai wins).

Roboppi was entertaining, though. I do wonder if the fallen duelists will wake up once Ai vs the Zaizens is done. I hope so.

Also, WHY DID SPECTER LOSE OFF-SCREEN? WHYYYYY???

I don’t understand why people are so hung up over the tier list. It’s just Ai’s ego doing the talking.

Anyways, Ai’s conversation with SB makes me wonder if someone else is going to revive the Ignis just to get at Ai. I sense a huge foreshadowing from what he said about Flame. I just don’t know who’s going to resurrect the Ignises.

I find Roboppi’s mindset about humans cliche. Why do non-human entities always generalize humans to be bad? It’s really getting old -_-

Roboppi’s monsters are cute though. Propelion is adorable.

I don’t mind that Genome and Baira got eliminated. They weren’t meant to be strong duelists in the first place. I just hope they logged out and not become comatose.

I do like the teamwork between Ghost Girl and Blood Shepherd even though much wasn’t shown. I do like GG’s new Altergeist. I like the scythe :D

Plot-centric episode. It’s nice to see the Zaizens finally know who Playmaker is. Hopefully, Yusaku will become more expressive around Aoi like he is around Takeru.

Oh boy, an anti-Ignis AI named Pandore? Named after Pandora? FOUR OF THEM? There are so many red flags regarding Pandore that it’s crazy.

I like that Yusaku gets heartfelt moments with Takeru and Aoi. It’s also kind of symbolic? Takeru is someone tied with his past, so they get along. The past isn’t bad since it develops you who are. Yusaku is a victim of the LI, just like Takeru. Aoi isn’t related to the LI, just someone who just happened to know a victim. She’s like a future of sorts? Like, she could be symbolic in the fact that Yusaku could be able to bond with people outside of the LI, a future Yusaku would want.

I get that feeling with Revolver and SB too. Both are their own past so they need to clash with each other in order to bring about a future for both of them. Revolver needs someone like SB to show that being tied to the past isn’t good and that he should be reborn into a future where he can walk without any guilt. SB needs someone like Revolver to make amends with his own guilt of letting his parents die. He is able to reincarnate many times yet he still can’t seem to reincarnate over guilt. Hopefully, after they duel, they become friends.

Akira has death flags waving at him. I sense it badly. What if Pandore is a factor to it?

11 vs 2...gonna be heavily reduced into 5 vs 2. Akira...um...you probably need a better strategy. Ai’s gonna come for you and BM isn’t enough to protect you.

I hope to know of Ai’s motive soon. Why does he want SOL’s database?

Queen, for being the top of SOL Tech, was really underwhelming as a duelist. How did she summon all those Allure Queens in one turn? Also, Drowning Mirror Force :D I use this card a lot in Duel Links.

I wonder what Ai’s motives are for taking over SOL Tech. What is the truth that Lightning talked about? I wonder if it’s about the Ignis-Origin bond and how being connected to humans will only contaminate them.

Ai’s archetype is interesting. Salamangreats’ weave might be snatched sooner or later. Ai also plays EXACTLY like Playmaker with how he relies on special summons and other summoning methods to boost his summons. Also, the fact that he summoned Wind and Light monsters (Windy and Lightning were villains in season 2) means that he’s the third Ignis to be an antagonist.

Roboppi is cute. I’m guessing he’s officially male?

I’m glad that Ai avenged Earth, but what’s next on Ai’s list? What’s he going to do now? I want to know.

Also, Jin losing his memories of the LI seems like a nice thing after being catatonic and kidnapped. I just hope the writers just don’t force him to remember the incident when necessary. STOP TORTURING THIS POOR BOY!

I do hope Jin is incorporated into the story soon. I want to see him interact with Shoichi, who is probably going to be VERY protective of him seeing that he was kidnapped twice in his life. I also want to see him befriend Yusaku and Takeru.

Also, the consciousness data that Lightning grabbed could have been pure coincidence in his part. He was most likely desperate to survive, so he grabbed whatever he could. Since he was defective, not very advanced, and probably has terrible luck, he managed to grab the one memory that pained Jin. If Lightning had to choose, he would’ve grabbed Jin’s memories of Shoichi, so it’s good that he was defective.

Though, I worry about Jin’s discharge. Ai knows Jin is Kusanagi’s weakness (and Yusaku and Takeru’s too, given how they feel about Kusanagi), so Ai could easily be a tricky villain to deal with given that he knows almost every character’s weaknesses. Ai could easily kidnap Jin just to make Playmaker and co stop foiling his plans.

Those two people in the end are Ai and Roboppi. It’s very obvious. Ai is vain (he fell into Lightning’s trap back in episode 68 because he wanted a badge with his face on it), so it’s obvious that he would have earrings with his face on them. What I find amusing is that Ai and Roboppi based their human hairstyles on the people of Cafe Nagi. Ai’s hair is a mix of Yusaku’s and Kusanagi’s while Roboppi’s hair is based on Takeru’s but has straight bangs.

Revolver...hm...I feel like the character development he had was thrown down the trash...yet it still feels in-character for him because he’s skeptical of AI

It’s always nice to see Yusaku interacting with Takeru. He’s always smiling around him, so it’s nice to see his softer side when it comes to Ai, Kusanagi and Takeru. I think free coffee for eternity is the best reward any student can have, though I’m not a coffee person. It’s cute how Takeru refers to Jin as “Jin-kun”. It’s most likely to distinguish him from “Kusanagi-san” but it’s nice that he doesn’t refer to him as the little brother. Maybe Jin is discharged, seeing from the preview of how Kusanagi and Yusaku are smiling.

Akira and Aoi team up? HECK YEAH! SIGN ME UP! I WANT TO SEE THAT!

Blood Shepherd and Ghost Girl teaming up? HECK YEAH! SIGN ME UP! I ALSO WANT TO SEE THAT!

I wonder what Aoi’s involvement in the story is now that she’s reunited with Miyu. Maybe Yusaku will finally tell her that he’s Playmaker.

I also wonder what Ai’s plan is. A thought I had is that he plans on conquering SOL Tech to have access to the androids and the database so that he can have the data to the Lost Incident. Maybe his goal is to revive his friends with the androids...and to do that...he needs the other five origins. Since they can go back and forth between LV and the human world, they can easily have accessibility with their plans (Maybe the first half of season 3 revolves around Ai and Roboppi’s placement into the story as villains and then the second half is where all the drama starts).

Also, the SB vs Revolver hints...I want to see it yet I feel like it’s not actually Revolver, but an illusion that Ai created because he wants to find a way to capture SB without the need to duel him. Or maybe it is actually Revolver and he came to warn SB about Ai but that’s how they start dueling.
