WELCOME TO HELL: It's the season of pep rallies, lacrosse games, and erratic prepping for the annual Winter Formal, and Karma Santos finds herself at the center of it all with teeth bared as she fights to maintain her place at the top of her high school's social hierarchy.
Abandoning her mother for weekend shopping trips with resident it girl Lydia Martin; skipping class to join 'best friend' Jillian Duchannes in smoking Magenta Capris behind the arts building; running errands for the redheaded tyrant that is her cheer captain, Rachel Thomas; hiking up her skirt for her dick-for-brains boyfriend, Donovan Donati. She does it all with an animalistic fervor, hoping that by the time her senior year rolls around she'll find herself at the apex of popularity. And having already relinquished all the honest parts of herself in exchange for a place at the top of Beacon Hill's food chain, only three things stand in her way:
The first is Isaac Lahey, the frustratingly attractive boy who has captured her affections despite her best efforts to ignore him. The second is Derek Hale, who keeps cropping up in every dark corner she happens upon, talking about her dead sister and hidden family secrets.
