I see riddle as someone who is similar to Leona besides being self aware. He is to a degree oblivious to how he was feeling. In fear of the large change it can bring. But with trying to be lenient he also now allows himself to break free from his past self. Which brings him to realize how he truly feels rather than just writing it off as something else.
At first it was something he could easily brush off. He would always rationalize why he was starting to feel what he was feeling... His heart started to race? Simply too much sugar in his tea. His flushed face that was sweating? It was hot out. Though as time came to pass, it began to worsen. Stumbling on words when he was always so poised when it came to how he reflected himself to those around him. Yet you seemed to completely unravel him. Really it was such a conundrum for him. Excuses stacked uncontrollably, that was until you both resided in the rose gardens after school:
The roses were perfect, the weather calm and sunny. It was a perfect day to be enjoying a study break out in the gardens. Riddle, who took it upon himself to tutor you, allowed you both to move the usual tea break outside. He sipped his cup as you spoke of your plans after your study session with him.
"I hope you do not plan to lounge about, I expect the study guide provided to be finished when you come back tomorrow." He spoke firmly while setting his cup down. When you sighed in defeat he couldn’t help but soften. A red tint rushed to his cheeks as he struggled to keep his composure.
You were cute when you pouted.
When did he ever start to think in such ways? It was all because of you. He was now sure you were the problem to these strange feelings and actions of his. Yet, he didn’t seem to mind. Perhaps allowing a few walls would be fine. There was no exact rule on who he was allowed to fall for…
Leona isn’t a softie. He wont pamper you or sugar coat anything, It’s been his motto from day one. When he comes to love someone he’s very much in denial. Who would settle for someone who can never surpass 2nd place? At school or home. When being seen for the first time, for just him. Despite his flaws, it is when he allows himself to start to soften up. Only when it’s him and the one he’s set his sights on.
How did he feel about you? he was unsure of. Annoyed, That’s how he felt at first when he saw you and that stupid furball that always seemed to follow you around. You stepped on his tail then crashed his chance at winning the spell drive tournament? Yea lets just say he wasn’t fond of you. Yet time continued and rather than annoyed he grew curious. Despite his distant attitude you’d always come around.
Why? He didn’t know or care.
There was only curiosity, you always came back no matter how many times he turned you away. Usually he would brush you off but when you met his nephew he was bound. Cheka became clingy and he couldn’t deal with it. Ruggie was out of commission… so he turned to the annoying herbivore he tolerated. Time flew by and slowly Leona noticed subtle changes within him. He would stare too long, his gaze lingering on you when passing by you. He’d notice the little things when it came to you, your breathing patterns, how you smelt. He wasn’t stupid either. He knew very well what was coming about. Yet he was i n denial.It wasn’t until one evening where he allowed you to come over (aka: he didn’t want to deal with Cheka and was gonna make you do it.):
Cheka the ball of energy he was, kept you on your toes as the two of you played and ran around Leona’s room. While lazily laying on his side propping up his head up on his bed. He would peak out of his one eye as the other remained closed and a thin line remained on his lips. You chased his little nephew around as Cheka giggled and dodged you with every turn. When you paused and stood up fully rubbing your forehead of any sweat he stared for a moment and smirked.
Blinking he realized just how bad he had it. It was too much to deny now. He could tell you were growing on him. It was sealed when you glanced over feeling the gaze and waved at him. There was no denial now. You had better be prepared because he wasn’t going to simply ignore his feelings anymore…
Azul is a mental mess. No matter how put together he is on the outside, sometimes he still feels like that chubby child he once was. Yet he would be the type to fall by being shown someone actually cared. Not just about how we were feeling but what was important to him. Being reassured of his worries was something he could get used to.
At a young age Azul put off any socialization due to his size. He was incredibly insecure. He built walls up as he builded himself and became the student he was to this day. Yet, you, the magicless prefect, seemed to leak into his barricade. He figured romance was simply a waste of time. He had a business to run and all it did was create stress. How else would he be able to continue his business and schooling if he was focused on another being? It was a foolish thought. Yet you came into his life. Despite the fact he manipulated you, you didn’t shut him out. You even spoke to him after his overblot when he invited everyone to the museum. It was as if you understood him, why he did what he did, why he still was how he was. Azul seemed to have the tweels seek you out. In hopes of keeping you close by, he offered a job within Monstro lounge. When you told him you wouldn’t mind helping out every so often, he noticed a strange feeling. He was excited… He was looking forward to your first shift. Azul was falling and falling fast. It wasn’t until he asked you to come to his office did he realize how he felt:
You had arrived not long after school had ended. The prior day, Azul had messaged you much to his embarrassment and asked if you would be willing to meet him in the VIP sections within Monstrous Lounge. When you arrived, Grim was pulled away by Jade and Floyd when Azul led you to his office. He offered you a seat, snacks, and refreshments. As you sipped your drink, Azul walked to his desk and sat down before folding his hands and setting his elbows on the top of the desk across his paperwork. It was obvious how his hands trembled but you seemed patient.
“Prefect, I would like to get straight to the point.”
He spoke firmly and clearly, yet behind the facade he was drowning in his own anxious sea. When you looked up he met your gaze.
“I have grown accustomed to your presence here in the monstro lounge. I am sure what Crowley gives you is merely pocket change. I would like to invite you to work at the lounge.”
When you agreed without seemingly any hesitation he was more than thrilled. After you left, he kept reminding himself of when scheduled you to work. Of course he would schedule you around when he would pop into the lounge's floor, and personally would attend your training. This contract was sealed, his poor unfortunate soul, lost and now held by you.
