1: there's BARELY any trans Goob content within the fandom as is, let alone content of both of them being trans

Like, I'm not even saying this to defend Manfred's character (though the fanbase does get a little crazy with what he actually did and didn't do) I'm saying this because that's not canon. I'm not sure it was even possible in canon.

Phoenix didn't write letters to Germany. He didn't know Miles was in Germany, let alone Von Karma's address. He didn't even know who Von Karma was until Edgeworth told him about Manfred in Turnabout Goodbyes.

In the game canon, Miles just stopped showing up to school one day. All Phoenix seemed to know was that he transferred schools suddenly. He didn't know why or where to. Remember, Phoenix didn't even hear about DL-6 until Turnabout Sisters when Maya mentioned her family's involvement.

I’m not even sure why but the second I started shipping Narumitsu I automatically pictured Miles as the top LMAO like it just came naturally to me I guess?

I don’t know what it is about him that comes off that way to me but in all the ships I like the serious character is automatically a top for me so..

Anyway because of that I got genuinely suprised upon finding out that Bottom!Miles was way more popular in fanart/fics than I initially thought.

Like I didn’t mind at first because I’m not THAT obssessed with top/bottom dynamics, I don’t care too much about that stuff as long as it’s a ship that I like and I’ll forever be happy that I get to see content of my favorite ship everyday regardless of it’s specific contents/character dynamics! It’s just a personal preference, that’s all.

But honestly, there are times where I get kinda miffed about how Miles specifically is portrayed in these fanworks because they always… woobify him? And don’t get me wrong you’re free to portray him however you want please don’t let me stop you because this is just my opinion... 😭

I see people would baby Miles a little too much and take away his most defining traits like his ruthlessness and intelligence so they could turn him into this oh so angsty sad little boy who cannot intuit any emotion that’s not sadness or grief and needs to be taught how to feel happy by Phoenix all the time as if he isn’t capable of doing it himself so he needs to be handheld constantly.

I don’t know about you guys, but Miles’ character isn’t just about him struggling with “unnecessary feelings” or missing his dad or whatever and YES that’s a huge part of him, but what I’m saying is that’s not the ONLY big part of Miles as a character.

Let’s not forget this is the same dude who told someone he didn’t give a fuck if they k!lled themselves and he spent the last couple of years prior to reuniting with Phoenix SENDING INNOCENT PEOPLE TO JAIL OR POSSIBLY EVEN GETTING THEM THE DEATH PENALTY. Like this man’s ruthless as shit even after his character arc which really shows that von Karma’s influence will forever be a part of him no matter how much he’s changed. He’s not evil or malicious, but he’s not your “sweet and sad widdle boy who we must protecc🥺” either.

I don’t like it when people dumb down this ruthless, intelligent and traumatized man to “aww my poor sad widdle baby” and no offense but that’s not Miles anymore that’s a whole ass OC at this point.

I absolutely LOVE it though when people dive into his darker side it’s such a refreshing thing to see people do with his character like YES! Give me more fics where Miles is willing to bend the law if it's gets in the way of the truth AND IT HAS ACTUALLY HAPPENED BEFORE!

It’s also another reason why I like Mitsunaru because the fans of that dynamic actually DO explore this side of him a lot where he’s more in control of everything and just takes charge and does whatever he wants without caring about what others think, it’s a really nice change for once LMAO but said fanworks are few and really hard to find.

Also, people would always think Miles is the most law-abiding citizen in society or whatever since he’s a prosecutor and all but it’s been shown multiple times that he cares more about the truth than the law itself, especially if said law prevents him from saving his friends and knowing what really happened.

Sorry if this comes off as mean and I genuinely do not have a problem with OOC portrayals. Hell, I LOVE OOC fanworks! They’re super fun and I eat them up all the time <3 It’s just that Miles get babied by the fandom so much more than Phoenix does and hardly anyone ever talks about his morally gray side that’s willing to commit literal crimes to bring the truth to light in favor of turning him into the poster boy for Ace Attorney angst and it just kind of annoys me sometimes.💀

Many AA fans, especially in other communities, don’t like Phoenix/Miles ship. Well, there’s really nothing wrong about it, but please don’t say Wrightworth is a “random pairing” or “stupid”. I know it’s not canon, but every popular AA ship isn’t canon. There’s not a “true pairing”, but only a pairing a fan could like more than other one.

So why do some fans say something like “Miles/Franziska is okay, but Phoenix/Miles is nonsense”?

Why some fans say “Phoenix is straight and Miles is asexual” like it’s the only possible truth?

Why some fans say “Phoenix and Maya are very close and they could love each other”, but Miles and Phoenix are “obviously just best friends”?

Please, don’t get me wrong: I’m totally okay if someone likes other ships. That’s fine, really. It’s just… I don’t understand why so many fans completely deny the possibility of Wrightworth, with weak explanations. I’d prefer something like “I don’t like Narumitsu, that’s all”, instead of “Phoenix and Miles don’t love each other, they’re not gay and they can’t have sex because I say so”.
