y’all think colonization is the one big bad sin? europe is more than england and france and it’s that mentality that only these 2 countries are racist in the entire continent that lets yall’s unchecked racism, islamophobia and antisemitism brew and fester for years. france and england aren’t the only colonizers. germany, italy, portugal, spain, belgium, the netherlands. may i remind you of the holocaust. germany, austria, poland, hungary. not just france and england and russia. get your head out of your ass.

In 1998, for example, Baltic Data House conducted a survey that found that approximately 11% of Latvians would be prepared to deny the right of black people to enter Latvia, while 70% of citizens would be ready to mistrust or be suspicious about a person with a non-traditional sexual orientation. A study in 1996, meanwhile, showed that under conditions of serious unemployment, 52% of Latvia’s residents would be prepared to offer a job only to people from their own ethnic group.
Historically it is the Jewish and Romani minorities, each representing less than 0,5% of the population, who have in different ways been most vulnerable to prejudice and discrimination. Anti-Semitism remains a problem, and Roma clearly experience discrimination. But recent events have made it apparent that the visibly different minorities, still few in numbers, are most exposed to racism. Persons of darker skin colour, those originating from outside Europe, and Muslims are particularly vulnerable. Surveys indicate that racist and xenophobic attitudes are equally widespread among Latvians and established minority representatives. The anti-discrimination legislation is still incomplete, especially in regard to access to goods and services. There are criminal law provisions against the incitement to hatred, but no other racist crime is identified, and racism is not an aggravating factor. When several racist violent incidents were reported for the first time in 2005 law enforcement officers and prosecutors did not classify the crimes as racist, but fell back on initiating cases of hooliganism. There is an urgent need to improve laws against racism and introduce specific hate crime legislation.
Madison is not the only EKRE MP to be curious about Nazi economics. Ruuben Kaalep, the leader of EKRE’s youth wing, Blue Awakening, said rightwing politicians “can’t completely disown” Nazi Germany, which had certain positive elements. Kaalep is Estonia’s youngest MP, aged 25, and in an interview at a chic restaurant not far from the parliament, he described his mission as fighting against “native replacement”, “the LGBT agenda” and “leftist global ideological hegemony”.
The party has largely avoided baiting Estonia’s Russian-speaking minority, instead using historical sensitivities over Soviet-era population transfers to exploit fears of a new, currently imaginary, wave of Muslim migration. Kaalep, however, said he did not believe that Estonia’s Russian-speakers could ever be considered Estonian, even if they learned fluent Estonian and identified as Estonian citizens. The party has called for a quota system for passportisation of the community.
when will y’all understand that you benefit from racism if you’re white no matter what country you’re from. when will y’all understand that another white country invading your white country doesn’t absolve you from racism and does not make you stop benefitting from white supremacy. every single european country, not just france and england, is capable of being and has proven to be racist, islamophobic and antisemitic.
