We have a chance to really show up for this girl, for the other women he has sexually harassed/assaulted, and for all the unaware women who want to sign up for his classes. Since Emalee Hudson has spoken up a week ago, he has removed his picture from his account, buried his name among a list of women’s names, and lost THIRTY-ONE THOUSAND followers. He lost another 200+ just while I was writing this post. Since he uses his platform to promote his workshops, accepts predominantly women, and preys on them there, it is CRUCIAL that his platform be taken away, tainted, and/or minimized in any way possible.

This guy has been praised and promoted by buzzfeed, business insider, the guardian, and countless other blogs and publications. It’s about time he’s famous for what he deserves.

This is only the tip of the iceberg in terms of his scumbag behavior. I’m continuing to chronicle his abuse IN THIS POST.

I really don’t ask people to share/reblog stuff, but minimizing his platform translates directly to the safety of the women who follow him. If you want to support survivors, you can reblog this and spread the story/use the hashtag #unfollowtortus on instagram too.

Here he posted private screenshots of DMs between himself and his victim, trying to submit them as evidence of his innocence. He deleted them almost immediately following massive backlash from survivors who said they would have done the same thing she did

More comments from him attacking her, as well as screenshots of aggressive DMs from him that his victim posted 

Him co-opting a hashtag that was created specifically to support his victim in the wake of her coming forward about his abuse, then deleting it

Artist: Paticia Abad 

(1946-2004)

Paticia Abad was a painter and printmaker who was born in Basco, Batanes, a small island in the Philippines. 

She exhibited her work in over 200 museums and galleries and had 75 solo shows of her own.

She started out studying political science in the Philippines before moving to the United States due to political unrest in her country. Though she originally moved to study law, she ended up staying to paint, attending both the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, DC and the Art Students League of New York.

Her style was heavily inspired and influenced by her travels, especially to Mexico, India, Afghanistan, Yemen, Mali, Papua-New Guinea and Indonesia.

She earned over 16 awards for her art, including the "Pamana Ng Pilipino Award" for outstanding achievement in the arts, given by the President of the Philippines.

Her latest short script “A Fangirl” is a finalist in several competitions. Her award-winning debut feature film, the first ever female-directed Russian film noir with reverse chronology, The Lightest Darkness is now on the festival circuit.” 

Artist: Marijke Koger

(1943-)

Marijke Koger, often referred to as “the mother of psychedelic art,” is a painter, illustrator, fashion and costume designer, and muralist who rose to prominence during the 60s. She was instrumental in “[shaping] the imagery of the sixties as it exists in the nation’s collective memory today”. 

In addition to her popular illustrations, she created album art and costumes for The Beatles (and costumes for Cream), painted the guitars of Eric Clapton and George Harrison, and the piano of John Lennon. Her mural work was featured on the Aquarius Theater (shown above) during its run of Hair as well as on the inside of the Beatles’ Apple Cultural Center in London.

She was the lead artist of the design collective The Fool during the 60s, and even created a commercial fashion line. Most of her work is now in the permanent collection at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London as well as the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and the South-West Museum in Los Angeles

Artist: Ruth Asawa

(1926-2013)

Ruth Asawa was an American sculptor and artist. She was the daughter of two Japanese immigrants and one of seven children. During World War II, her family endured prolonged separation and internment. Even at the internment camp, Ruth Asawa studied art.

She showed interest in art from a young age, winning first prize in a school arts competition at age 13. She went on to attend the Milwaukee State Teachers College with the intent to become an art teacher. Her first choice college was in California, but she was prevented from attending, because the area was still prohibited to ethnic Japanese, whether or not they were American citizens. She then studied at Black Mountain College, where she first began experimenting with wire in her art.

Her wire sculptures received recognition in the 50s, when her work was featured numerous times in the Whitney Museum, as well as the Sao Paulo Art Biennial.

She was a passionate advocate for the transformative power of education, especially for young children, and dedicated much of her life to finding support for educational art programs.
