Because this person has turned off reblogs + replies to their original post I've decided to make my own in response.

This is by far the most disturbing reaction I've gotten to what was originally me expressing my frustration with the passive (and direct) racism of the Simblr community. First of all, no one said every white simmer is a racist. like ever. What I actually said is that the community has a lot of unchecked racist behaviors that need to be reflected on, and ideally corrected. Secondly, it is LAUGHABLE how you victimize yourself. If you're truly not a racist as you so claim, you wouldn't have felt so offended by my post that you felt the need to defend yourself. Because it was literally never about you.

But since you're here, let me tell you—just saying you're not a racist isn't enough.

Saying that you "accept everyone" isn't and was never enough. Anyone can say that, in fact the people that do are often the ones engaging in racist behaviors. Even if you do accept everyone, that's still not enough! Why do you think that just tolerating the existence of others completely absolves you of any responsibility whatsoever? If you truly want a leg in this fight you need to be AGAINST racism. You need to actively check your behaviors and ensure you're not participating in the silencing of our voices. Educate yourself. Report discrimination when you see it. Protest. Raise awareness for the hate crimes against people of color that happen EVERY DAY. Donate to your local anti-racist organizations. Literally anything. As a white person you have more power than I to make a change and hold your fellow white people accountable, yet here you are on tumblr.com crying that you're not racist yet doing nothing to prove it.

This was the truly disturbing part of your argument for me. Let me try to understand; you see a black person complaining about the racism they've witnessed (and experienced btw), immediately take it as a personal attack, and argue that No actually, I'M the one being targeted for my skin color. You know, as the White French European.

I was considering ignoring you entirely because that is probably among the most brainrotted takes I've seen on this platform, in fact I still haven't concluded whether you're a troll or not, but this is Tumblr. This type of ignorance is disgustingly common and it needs to end. I don't even know how to rebut this without stating the obvious. Let's just get this out of the way: YOU CAN'T BE RACIST TOWARDS WHITE PEOPLE. If you want to sit here and argue the dictionary definition of the word to me, just get off my blog because that is so clearly not what I'm talking about here. I'm talking about the structural prejudice, oppression, subjugation, etc. of minority groups that historically comes from, you know, white people. So to be sitting here on your lily French ass and imply that you are currently experiencing the effects of centuries of rape, genocide, ethnic cleansing, dehumanization, enslavement, silencing, antagonism, torture, and experimentation that white people throughout history have done to people like me, then you actually might be beyond help. Sorry.
