That was something at least. As far as she could remember, she hadn't notice it raining recently so it should at least be mud free. Funny, knowledge held power, but something so powerful could be so fragile. "I do understand that. But... it seems a little lonely as well" she had done it when she was younger during the winter months whilst her brothers were fighting over the crown. It was why in summer she had run outside as often as she was allowed... why she had ended up being tricked. But that time there, even with all the stories around her, it wasn't the same. "I definitely understand that, and when things are a little calmer I likely will. Besides, no harm done here".
Belle had never really been a stranger to isolation. At least, it wasn't something she had considered to be particularly negative. She liked her own company - she always had, was certain that she probably always would. Maybe it wasn't the healthiest way to look at it - maybe that was something that she needed to work on. Still, she shrugged softly as the other woman spoke, offering a gentle smile, "Mm, not so much. Or maybe I'm just used to it." Perhaps that had been a little sadder to admit than she'd meant it to be - but it was out there now. "Mm, it feels like there has been a lack of calm around here recently, huh?"
“perhaps.” he considers her words for a moment. “perhaps it is self-inflicted as you suggest. but i’ve done unspeakable things and i can’t imagine there’s any coming back from it,” halbrand says, supposing it both vague and true enough to admit. maybe the blame is only his own, but he's gone too far in his pursuit of peace to turn back now. if he's to end strife in middle-earth, it would mean losing the part of him that might think to reach for the light. an admirable sacrifice, even if no one seems to think so. “may i ask what guides you? to the light?”
Alice shrugged her shoulders gently, "I don't think I believe that. There's always a way back. Sometimes, it's just a case of making hard choices." And she was more than aware that wasn't easy - wasn't that all part of the dilemma? Choosing what was right over what was easy? Or something like that, anyway - she wasn't convinced she'd ever been all that good at giving advice, but it seemed to be working here. She smiled softly at the question, "Love." Well, hadn't that always been the answer? Hadn't that always been the reason why she'd made the choices that she had? "Believe me, I know how that sounds, but it's the truth."
@gildedwcrds: ❛ if you look for the light, you can often find it. but if you look for the dark, that is all you will ever see. ❜ (from alice; for anyone)
halbrand falls silent at her words. light and dark. good and evil. he's been schooled on that quite often as of late much to his distaste. “and what good does finding the light do if it’ll only continue to evade my grasp?” his words aren't hostile but spoken with a genuine frustration for the circumstances that led him to where he is now. there's still a haze over his memories but from what he can recall, he did seek the light, and she cast him out just as he said she would once she discovered the truth. “it would seem some of us are simply doomed to the darkness.”
Alice tilted her head as he spoke, considering the question. "Does it really evade you, though?" She questioned, tone still gentle, "Or is there something else holding you back?" She supposed there were a lot of things that could do that - hell, she hadn't quite realised just how held back she'd been without her memories. Not that she had done anything about that - but she wasn't sure where anyone else stood on it quite yet. She managed a soft smile, shaking her head, "Nobody is doomed to the darkness. You might just need a little more guidance to get out."

Tyler stood at the edge of the campsite, eyes fixed on the horizon - or, more specifically, the dark clouds that were beginning to gather there. It was strange, a few months ago he’d never have been particularly interested in the beginning of a storm but… Well, it seemed that a lot of things had changed. His mind raced, both a mix of memories and intrigue as to what might come next, when he became aware of a presence nearby. Tyler smiled gently, without really looking away from the sky, “You feel that?" He asked, eventually turning to look, "Storm's brewing."

Flynn was not necessarily one for the beach, but he had to admit it was a nice view, especially when the sun was going down. Considering how nice it was, he was not surprised to find he was not alone, but he was surprised when he realized just who it was sitting on the beach. No, it could not be…could it? Could she have ended up here too? It seemed too much to hope for, and yet there she was. "Ra-Rapunzel?" he sputtered, "Is it really you?"
Rapunzel had always loved the beach - more often than not just being comfortable spending time by herself. Still, she didn't mind the company, and had looked back towards her sketch as the other had started to speak. She paused at her name, quiet for a moment as she turned to look at him - but failing to recognise anything about him. "I-- That's my name but..." She cut herself off, unsure what to say next, "I'm sorry, do I know you?"
balthazar bowed his head to the unwinged female, a small smile on his features. "thank you." he replied, tucking his wings in tight and sitting across from the others. balthazar had gotten many strange looks since waking up in these strange lands - a lot of people grasping to touch things that they shouldn't be. "are you going to comment on the wings as well? i'm so tired of people commenting on my wings."
Alice offered a gentle smile as the other sat down, raising an eyebrow as he began to speak. "I mean... Now that you've brought it up--" She began, a soft tease in her tone before she shook her head, "No, I won't." She fell silent for a moment as she took another sip of her tea, before her shoulders moved in a gentle shrug, "Besides, those wings aren't the strangest thing I've ever seen." Well, she supposed they would have been but... Recently, it seemed things had been coming back to her; an entire life she had lived somewhere else that wasn't here. "Other people might not be so used to it, though."

Alice had found herself at a corner table in the bakery, fingers absentmindedly tracing the rim of her cup as she got lost in her thoughts. The hum of conversation around her - previously something that she would have found comforting - seemed almost surreal, given the completely separate set of memories that had flooded back over her recently. Feeling like a stranger in her own life was something she couldn't quite get used to - and trying to grasp all the details of what was familiar and what wasn't was more difficult than she could have expected. She had pulled herself back out of her thoughts when movement in front of her had caught her eye and she glanced up with a small smile, gesturing towards the chair at the other side of the table, "That seat is empty. I know how busy it gets in here, feel free."

MADELYN CLINE For Tommy Hilfiger
"nobody said i have the right to remain silent!" from Sarah ( @gildedwcrds )
"I did!" John B mentioned, silently hoping no one heard them as they walked around the closed town hall. "We don't want to get caught, but I think we both want answers about the Mayor's death. I mean it was unexpected, right? So maybe foul play was involved, maybe he was murdered and it's just being covered up." He wondered if the blonde was on the same page as him, or if he made a big mistake in recruiting her to help him.
Sarah huffed as he spoke, though she knew that he had a point. She glanced around, as though checking that they were definitely alone - the last thing either of them needed was to get caught out here. "The last thing I want to do is get either of us in trouble," She whispered, "But you're right. It is suspicious, and nobody else is going to try and figure it out." She paused for a moment, glancing up at him, "But what's your plan? I'm with you, but we need to be smart about this."

The sun had begun to dip below the horizon, throwing a more golden hue across the waves that lapped at the beach in front of her. Rapunzel sat on the sand, sketchpad open on her knee, pencil sketching lightly at the paper. She paused for a moment, tilting her head back towards the sun, closing her eyes as she let out a content sigh. It was at that point she became aware of a figure near her and turned with a soft smile, "Beautiful sunset, isn't it?" She began, opening her eyes as she turned towards them, "You can join me if you want."

.。.:*☆ Merlin did not know how long he had been sitting in the library already at this point. He was rtying to figure out the mystery of this place since the day his memories had returned. Because this was strong magic. Even from his point of view. And he did not exactly feel comfortable with it.
"Oh dear... I am sorry. have you been talking to me?" He looked up, not meaning to sound a crappy as he felt. But Merlin was tired. And frustrated.
"Please, do not tell me the library is already about to close, and that I actually have to leave now."
The library, it seemed, had always been a place of solace for Belle. Whether that was in this life or... another. The fragmented memories that constantly played in her mind were soothed when her head was in a book, or when she had the chance to lose herself in her writing - opportunities that seemed a little harder to come by these days. The library itself had been busier than she had expected it to be that afternoon, and she'd tried a few times to get the man's attention before he had finally looked up. Belle laughed softly, shaking her head, "No, no, you don't have to leave. I was actually just looking for a seat and this one," She gestured beside him, "Is the only one left. Do you mind if I sit?"

.。.:*☆ "Well, thanks for the towel, I guess," Thor mused, glancing at the person who had allowed him to shelter in their place after the sky had been breaking open and it had been raining for hours on end. Making him getting wet to the bone of his way back from the beach. Which why he had sumply knocked on one of the doors of the places nearby. Hoping someone would be at home and willing to open it for him.
"Had no idea the weather here could get that bad, really."
Admittedly, Megara had been a little surprised by the knock at the door. Usually, she wouldn't have bothered answering it, knowing that she wasn't expecting anyone but... Well, for some reason, she had decided to. If she was being entirely honest, it had taken a lot of restraint not to laugh at the stranger on her doorstep, but she had invited him in to wait out the rain regardless. Megara shrugged, letting out a quiet laugh as he spoke, "It's no trouble," She answered, waving a hand dismissively, "Though I'm inclined to ask what it was you were expecting from the weather with all those grey clouds?"

.。.:*☆ "Yes?" Colin had not even noticed how much time had passed. Or that he occupied the table in the coffeeshop without ordering something during that time. Which was actually sort of rude, and he knew it. He was just too focused on his writing in that very moment. Trying to, well... come up with something he could actually make money with, maybe.
"I am sorry, I did not even notice.... anyway, is there anything I can do for you, maybe?"
He'd been sitting there for most of the day, Sarah had noticed that by the time she'd come back from her break and he hadn't yet moved. She'd left it a little longer before she'd finally approached the table, more out of curiosity than anything else. Sarah offered a small smile as he started to speak, shaking her head, "You know, you've been sat here for ages and you haven't ordered anything," Sarah began, raising an eyebrow, "Can I get you anything? Coffee, water, something to eat?"
