Sparks on Sunday at the Kelvingrove bandstand were INCREDIBLE, the vibes were off the charts, the crowd was buzzing, the company was impeccable, the setlist transcendental and the seats closer to the Maels than I've ever been.
Russell was talking about the Scotland win at the World Cup and accidentally said "Glasgow 1 - Haiti 0" which is very funny because I am well aware that the rest of Scotland feels like we in Glasgow act like we're the whole country.
He also messed up the lyrics for This Town and sang the Hiroshima line twice instead of 20 cannibals, but listen, he can sing anything he likes, he's earned it and we love him.
I wore my pineapple dress even though it REALLY doesn't fit me anymore, and eagle-eyed viewers might notice that my mum's top is the same one Russell wears in the Sparks Brothers movie, since some excellent daughter found out which Japanese shop it was from and ordered it for her. My mum first saw Sparks in 1974 at the Glasgow Apollo, so it's extremely fun for her to still be able to see them live with me.
(Baby Baby) Can I Invade Your Country! What a tune. The setlist was truly amazing, love to hear ANYTHING from Interior Design, and Mickey Mouse, everyone was literally bouncing along.
Could NOT be happier that I'm also going to the York show in August.
