For me, the tension between the characters comes more from the parts that are not the "intimate interactions". For instance, when Stiles is talking to Theo, there's a moment when his gaze slips to the lips of the villain for a second. The dialogue doesn't explicitly mention it, and the camera doesn't capture it either. It has nothing to do with the clichéd and abrupt principle that "three seconds of eye contact leads to a kiss". But you definitely know that something unknown is happening between them. That's the moment I'm after.
