( let’s pretend i posted this at 12:00AM your time, okay thanks. yes, time is just a concept. ahhhhh, it’s vesji week! [as if we aren’t living in vesji year already bahaha] )

it takes a bit of fumbling and twisting, but jiwon eventually manages to waddle his way into vesper’s arms and greets him with no less than three kisses. moving around while tangled in string lights is more difficult than it looks, but somehow he succeeds. thankfully, too, kofi seems more preoccupied with vesper’s return than the enticing glow of electrical wires and tiny light bulbs. one less thing to worry about.

“it’s not fair that you had to work so much… you have a family waiting for you here. kofi and i missed you so much.” pouting none too subtly, jiwon makes a strange cross of halloween and christmas while wrapped up in a string of orange lights that leads all the way to the balcony, where they wind around half of the guardrail. then his pout turns more suspicious when vesper elaborates vaguely on the many things to do this season. “you mean things like bobbing for apples, right? baking cookies and decorating them as ghosts and goblins? making arts and crafts out of fallen leaves? those kinds of things, right?”

vesper hums happily to the kisses before returning them with some of his own, he helps jiwon with the lights as he walks out to the balcony, kofi following after and he turns his head to peer of his shoulder, giving jiwon his boxy smile. “but, see, i gotta get paid to provide for my family.. doesn’t mean i don’t miss you both any less though.” then the boxy smile fades into a small frown as he holds up the lights, looking at jiwon to see if this is where he wanted to hang them. kofi continuing to give little barks as if wanting to be carried yet again, but soon the pup loses interest and retreats back inside the apartment, leaving vesper and jiwon to themselves. 

said flier he was holding drops to the ground in all its glory, a scary halloween ghoul equivalent to that of Scream plastered on the front with blood splatter effects along it, along with clowns and even zombies. it was a three-in-one type of thing, of course the people visiting the site were allowed to go to all or just one or two. vesper thought it’d be a great idea and after he’d bring them back to that one part of town, though he hopes to not see those creepy little kids that kept staring at them at the house. he’s pretty confident he knows where it is this time. “ghosts are there, so are goblins.. maybe zombies and.. clowns. of course, the one i’m talking about has zombies..” he explains, biting on his lip. he knows it’ll take a bit to convince jiwon.

it’s not even halfway through september, but halloween is popping up almost everywhere. pumpkin spice specialty drinks, the odd pumpkin sat outside someone’s door, skeleton stickers on the glass doors of a balcony across the way. jiwon is not immune to the spirit, dressed in a mustard yellow hoodie that he borrowed (read: stole) from vesper’s half of the closet and a pair of black leggings. he’s even wearing socks with black cats printed on them, and a half-dozen pumpkin muffins lay spread out on a cooling rack in the kitchen.

“oh, you’re home early—” emerging from the balcony, jiwon lifts both arms to keep a tangled string of orange lights away from kofi’s curious little teeth. there’s a smile on his face, but it turns a little awkward when he spots the brightly coloured flyer in vesper’s hand. “vesper… what is that?”

vesper always liked to point out that if they can put out christmas products and the likes by october, then sure as hell they can bring out halloween products by august even, september is fine too. if vesper had the say, halloween products would be year around. better late than never, of course. vesper is looking for jiwon and spots him in his attired, too cute as always, vesper nearly forgets to talk. he smiles and opens his arms, somewhat hiding the flyer and waves his hand dismissively because he wants hugs and kisses first, then he’ll tell jiwon his smartest plan yet.

❛ okay but like imagine if we were on a sinking ship and there was only one life vest, i would miss you so much. ❜ saint’s hand comes to be placed on the others shoulder, giving it a firm squeeze followed by a pat and then his hand was back in his own pocket. ❛ that would be like super sad. ❜ and he nods his head and for a moment it looks like he was being sincere, lips pressed into a thin line. ❛ but then again this isn’t titanic so like what the hell, want a cigarette? ❜ and he takes a pack of cigarette out of his pocket, offering one for the other.

vesper had been busy looking about their surroundings, kicking a lone pebble with each step he gets closer to it, eyes shifting every so often from the ground, up and then to yukwon. “i-..well, i mean. i’m not.” he states so blatantly before he’s really looking at  yukwon and- “oh, shit. wait are you seriously sayin’ that? hold up.” he stops in his tracks, raises his hand and moves it from the top of his head to the bottom as if this magically switches his expression from lethargic to semi-irritated. “yeah, forreal. what the fuck were you thinkin’ draggin’ me here in the first place. the audacity!” he turns his head briefly before snickering and looking back at the other. “was that convincin’ enough? regardless, you’re stuck with me for draggin’ me here with you anyways. might as well make the best of it, buddy ol’ pal.”
