This is the rough Wheel of the Year that I’ve been working on. It doesn‘t have all the personal dates that I observe, this is more of a template/base so that it can help other people design their own. I enjoy it as a nice design practice. Ive added a rough moonphase on top, on my own file its its own layer that i can move and syncs up to the actual moon phases.

Regarding repeating cards
There are times when I do a reading for a friend who’s come to me before for a reading and I notice that not only do the same signifier cards pop up, but so do some of the other cards in the spread. Sometimes, every time they come back to me the cards seem to be following them. Generally the questions being asked or held closely inside are similar enough questions. My friend clearly has been in the process of working through the current issue that they’ve been going through
I know that for myself, there are certain cards to show up time and time again because my internal state hasn’t changed. If I’m to think that the cards are a mirror of my internal world, of course the same cards are going to show up to reflect my problems back to me if I haven’t resolved the issue within myself.
my thoughts on signifier cards
When pulling cards for a seeker, I find it super useful to pull a signifier card that represents their current state. I think its a good assessment of how they are doing and it helps me figure out how they interact with the other cards within the spread.
I’ve noticed that traditionally the practitioner would pick a card (based on arbitrary attributes of the seeker)/have the seeker pick a card from the court cards , before doing the reading. But I feel like I’m being presumptuous to know exactly how the seeker is feeling at the current moment.
I also think that its reductive to only pick from the court cards, any card can represent the seeker, because they all have different energies. A young woman could be represented by the emperor if they’re stoic and have more domineering energy (think boss bitch)
So for myself, I have taken to shuffling the deck and flipping the top card at random for the seeker’s signifier. And while you would think that leaves it completely up to chance and a lower rate of the card being relatable to the seeker, I find that this method yields more specific relatability. Sometimes the card pulled for the signifier is so relatable that its uncanny, or there are times when I would do reading for the same person a week apart and the same signifier card would keep showing up.

An explanation of sorts
For those of you that know me, I’m sorry that I’ve been gone for years. I’ve realized that due to many of my own issues, I tend to disappear when things get overwhelming. These past few years have been crazy.
This past year especially, after I was forced to move back due to the pandemic, I have been in one of the biggest periods of burnout that I have ever felt. Literally nothing I used to do felt fulfilling anymore, I was kinda of just stuck in limbo, like I’ve been physically in this 3D world, but in my head its just a void. Only recently have I started slowly starting myself back up again.
Ive been reading and looking into all manner of things, things that I used to think were completely bullshit, but honestly, when everything is actually bullshit and proven to be, this stuff doesn’t seem all that outlandish.
So I’ve started teaching myself, tarot and other esoteric/occult stuff, in conjunction with researching coffee brewing and working on my art. Stuff is real crazy and it just keeps going, I feel compelled to document it for myself at least. And if all of this really is bullshit and fake, at least I can see the progression of how exactly I lost my mind :)
I’m deciding to start up this tumblr again, because I feel that I can just leave my musings up as a repository for future reference for myself and others.
