The Crying Queen - Coronation
Like most things in Garia, the exchange of power between monarchs is simple and to the point. The person giving up the seat will recite a passage written by the first King, kneel before the next chosen and give them the ceremonial sword. The newly appointed will then recie the same passage, while holding the sword and asking for a divine blessing. Then, the ceremony is over and the newly appointed is to serve people for the next 20 years.

The daughter of an influential family, with her mother serving in the army and father working as an additional advisor on the royal court. Both were tragically murdered when she was eighteen, which pushed her to also join the royal court, later being chosen as an elected Queen at twenty-five, the youngest in the past century. Just like her father, she was born with albinism, which made her unable to join the military training most of the children from other rich families went through. She spent most of her childhood already knowing that she wouldn't be able to pick up a sword, so her father taught her everything he knew about politics and history.
Her family was highly regarded in the court, so after the death of her parents, she got a place on it. At first, she worked as an apprentice, listening, but not speaking. After some time, however, she got comfortable and started quickly to gain support from the other members of the council. At twenty-five, when the previous King finished serving his term, it was decided that she would become the next ruler by the council. She was in a unique situation of having much more knowledge about the intricate geopolitical situation happening on the continent, compared to her colleagues, who were mainly high ranking ex-military.
After being elected, she gained the nickname of Crying Queen. As was tradition, grieving was mainly shown through wearing small tear shaped medallions, most often attached to armor or clothing. She decided, however, to wear them as a headpiece that she never took off, giving the illusion as if she was always crying. Before becoming the Crying Queen, she was called Moth, a nickname gave to her by her late mother.
She is calm in her approach to ruling, but she was still raised in an environment almost completely run by soldiers. Even though she isn’t part of the military, she understands them and knows how to communicate with the people she's ruling. On the other hand, she is also much more diplomatic in her approach to foreign politics, which was one of the main reasons why she was picked in the first place.
