Alpha!Dennis, who was the smallest out of four brothers. He never filled in like they did in puberty, didnāt boast and gloat like them and shied away from fistfights instead of initiating them. Hewas calm and considerate and loved to help his mother cook in their big farmhouse kitchen. His family was sure that he would present as an omega. So sure, in fact, that they raised him to stay quiet when Alphas spoke and act the part. It all came to an end, when his first rut hit him in the middle of the late fall harvest, shortly after his 16th birthday.
Alpha!Dennis, who grew up in an almost cult like religious community where young people were expected to marry shortly after presenting to avoid any mating out of wedlock. A community where same sex attraction, regardless of presentation, was shunned.
His family picked his bride. A lovely omega girl of the same age named Shirley. She kept a polite but reserved smile all throughout the ceremony, but threatened him with a knife the second they were alone. Turns out, she was just as hyped about being married off to some Alpha as Dennis was to marry some Omega. Their wedding night - after the knife was put down - was spent talking about their respective hopes and dreams and, as they came to find out, they both wanted the same. They left Broken Bow together but parted ways shortly after, with Shirley going to Virgina to study law and Dennis staying in Pittsburgh to go to medical school.
Dennis started his ER rotation not expecting to end his first day traumatised, stuffed into the spare bedroom of his prickly co-worker and with the biggest, head reeling, heart pounding, butterflies in his stomach kind of crush on his Omega boss. Dr. Robby was tall, broad, hairy and could command a room full of Alphas, Betas and Omegas with just a few words. The complete opposite of what he had been taught what Omegas should be like - and it was addictive. Not to mention how all the strength seemed to leave him the second the older Omega put his hands on him. It had Dennisās knees shaking. Strong hands on his shoulders, bicep or neck ā so so close to his scent gland - manhandling him around the ER, like he was some dainty little thing and not an alpha built for farmwork (if only in arm muscles and not height). The memories left him blushing and desperate in his bed on a daily basis. Dennis was sure that if they werenāt forced to wear scent patches at work, then Robby would have induced his rut by now.
Alpha!Dennis, who jumped on the chance to earn some cash by taking on some extra nightshifts to be able to afford the textbooks for his last year. Who didnāt expect to be met with 5ā² 9ā³ of pure confidence and sass in form of one Dr. Abott.
Him having a crush on his male omega boss would have already put his mother in an early grave. Him having a second crush on an older male Alpha almost pushed Dennis into his. This was unheard of where he came from! A scandal of the highest calibre! But despite it all, he couldnāt resist the delicious feeling of being bossed around by them both. The feeling of steady hands pushing and pulling him around and deep voices telling him what a good job he did. He loved the rush of adrenaline he got whenever he would end up squished between them during hand-over, listening to them talk over him as if he wasnāt one command away from dropping to his knees. The never ending need to be good for them had him in a chokehold, but the fear of rejection kept him from pursuing any of the two. Part of him was convinced, the two were already in a relationship and he really didnāt want to add āhomewreckerā to his already stupidly long list of sins.
It was during one of those shift changes, Dennis happily squished between the two, while looking over charts, when an amused voice called out to him: āIs that the right moment to ask for a divorce, or should I wait for you to commit adultery first?ā
A visitorsā badge adorning her suit jacket, Shirley stood in front of them with a playful smirk on her lips. Dennis slipped out between his attendings to pull her into a tight, joyful hug, not noticing the horrified glances on his colleagues faces. āWhat are you doing here? I thought you were in Virginia?ā
Turns out, Shirley had married last week, but when they went to the town hall to register their marriage, they were rudely informed that she was still married to Dennis. To top it all off, that also meant the little one year old boy she had with her alpha almost-wife was now also legally his. So maybe, he could quickly sign those divorce and adoption forms? Pretty please?
The request had Dennis fake gasping, āYou want me to give up my own flesh and blood that I fathered through immaculate conception??? How cruel! How disgusting! Let me sue for emotional damage! I know a very good lawyer who also happens to be my almost ex-wife!ā He joked with a wink, before he quickly picked the pen from a stunned Robbyās breast pocket and signed the papers on the spot.
They both chatted for a moment longer before Shirley tugged him into another tight hug. With a quick peck on his cheek, she whispered into his ear: āYou should talk with your two boyfriends over there. They look quite confused.ā
She left him frozen on the spot, mouth agape and blush creeping down his neck. He hadnāt yet managed to gather himself, when twin hands landed on his shoulders, dragging him away to the lockers for further questioning.
Turns out Jack and Robby had been trying to get Dennis to join their relationship, but ā due to him always shying away - suspected something was holding him back (the interest was written all over the boyās face after all). His marriage must have been said obstacle, so now they could finally start to date!
Dennis, who, honest to God, had just forgotten he had been married in the first place and who was just that dense when it came to them both, was left speechless. Not that he minded that much as long as it meant he could spend more time sandwiched between them. He could die happy with his head pushed into Jackās chest and Robby softly tugging on his hair, voice laced with a content purr as they both made plans for their first date.
Alpha!Dennis, who spent his first shared rut in a nest made out of old band shirts from the 80ās, surrounded by the smell of whisky and burning wood. His fangs locked tight around Jackās dog tags and knot buried deep inside Robby as he whined and whimpered.
