Quit your bitching about Tiger
I’ve been working in golf for 12 years so possibly my opinion is biased because Tiger drives golf business (pun intended).Â
It baffles me when people slam the commentators for following Tiger in the face of such a rich and strong field. But it wasnt long ago that Tiger was a legitimate contender at every event he was in. 7, 8, 9, 10 strokes back going into the weekend used to be no concern for Tiger. There has NEVER been another player like this. Of course his game is not what it once was but he’s only 39. You can’t discount him.
Plus, watching Tiger is more fun than others.
He drives viewers. He’s unpredictable He’s charismatic. And truthfully I prefer to watch when he’s in the field.
Go, Tiger, Go!
How do you deal with complacency in your own life?Â
Sometimes I find it hard or damn near impossible to pick up the phone and get to work. I'm not rich so I cant coast. I have financial obligations so I shouldn't procrastinate. Yet somehow I can justify distracting myself instead of working.Â
Does this happen to you?Â
Time for change
I don't like posting my religious views on Facebook. I have relationships that aren't based on religion and it's ok to have a differing point of view. Isn't it? But I'm not prepared to alienate and risk losing people on my opinions. This the better venue for me.
If your religion approves of murder - If the god you believe in demands vengence in the form of taking lives then you need to look for another deity to worship. If the clerics and leaders in your religious community are supporting terrorist attacks and defending the murder of innocents in the name of the prophet/god/'insert deity here' then you need to set away from them. In fact you should be calling the police.
That is the politically correct version I might consider posting to Facebook.
The real version is something more like: What the fuck, people?? Why aren't we screaming and yelling and taking drastic action against these morons who believe they are above the law?Â
We're kidding ourselves if we think these are the actions of a small few. It might be a 'small few' on the world stage but there are Millions and millions of radicalized Muslims around the world and I suspect the movement is significantly larger than we hear about in the media.
The solution starts with the Muslim Community making bold statement across the board denouncing this behavior and identifying those within their community who are threats. The issue is cultural and the solutions is cultural. It'll be hard to swallow and create rifts in the community but it has to be done.
Much like my reluctance to post views to Facebook, the Muslim community needs to come out and address the core issues - regardless of who gets offended.

ABOUT TIME
I've been threatening to launch my own blog site for years. I've had strong opinions about politics, religion, politics and various other topics since I was young. THEN in my 30's I began questioning the foundation of those opinions, opened my mind (if that;s a real thing) and then ultimately changed some of them.Â
Now I find when I voice an opinion I have less opposition. Is it because I like to argue and people around me are weary of arguing with me OR is it because I'm right?
I tend to believe the later.
For what it's worth I will always concede if it turns out I'm wrong. But as I often say to my kids: If I'm not right, I must be left.
