I get tired and my feet hurt. I choose to keep walking to my favorite coffeeshop. It's always a weird feeling to enter a social space alone. As i am contemplating where to sit, i see a young man standing in the corner, looking wearily around. I find a spot on a couch, and open the menu.
The guy hurries and sits next to me. He looks nervous. Nervous people in public spaces scare me. Is he dangerous ? He opens Facebook on his phone. A videos plays loudly and unexpectadly, making him jump and try to shut it as fast as possible. He keeps scrolling. The server takes my order. The guy tells him to wait five more minutes.
So, he's waiting on someone. Why so nervous? A date? Or is he just an anxious person ?
I'm ingrossed in my book, while watching him in the corner of my eye. He turns off his phone, lays back, deep sigh. Left leg vibrating, tapping his small pack of gum on the table. Checks his phone. They're probably late (fashionably late).
He lays his head on his folded arms on the table. Is he going into a panic attack ? He sits up immediately. Gets a call. He answers shortly and hangs up. My book is getting interesting.
A gorgeous girl approaches. He stands up hurriedly. Ah, here she is. Finally. She pulls the opposite chair confidently. He immediatly regrets his lack of galanterie and puts his hand on the chair to halter its movement while reaching out to kiss her cheek as a relieved "hello".
He pushes her chair back. She sits down, satisfied, and reaches out to take a gum out of his pack. She's a flirty one, i see. I'm amused. She murmurs something. They stand up and head away to change seats. They're out of sight.
I'm on chapter 2.
