After looking at some pictures of Universal Studios Nami but US and Japan, I thought of something. If we ever get to the post timeskip, I’m pretty sure Live Action Nami would look like this. Thicker bikini top(less revealing and more comfort) with pants that can cover up the waist. important info for commissions going forward.
Hey gamers. Not my usual post but seeking feedback and maybe advice and also discussing commissions going forwards.
Last year I took on a massive commission that took me 4 months to complete. I provided dozens of work in progress images. Did about 15 adjustments and redesigns for free and did multiple feedback sessions. The length of this project required me to put all personal works on hold for 4 months. only to be ghosted when the final product was completed and the project owner used AI going forward.
And as of this week I had a repeat of the same scenario (albet at a smaller scale). Only to be told the final product was not up to standard and to be dropped completely with zero chance to redeem myself. Of course the client is paying for a service. They have the free will and choice to do whatever they wish.
However, as an autistic, traumatized individual who struggles especially with self image and abandonment, I cannot continue this pattern. It's caused me great depression and stress to spend so much time working only to be thrown away and discarded due to the final product being too ugly, or not the style wanted when it's on the COMISSIONER to make sure the artist they are paying is up to standard.
I WAS PAID IN FULL BY BOTH CLIENTS!! THIS ISNT A CALLOUT POST. PLEASE DO NOT SEEK OUT OR REACH OUT TO THEM. ITS NOT ABOUT THE MONEY. ITS A MATTER OF PRINCIPLE.
Going forward I will not be taking commissions of Irl people, pets or commissions for the Pokemon tcg community as I've had too many bad experiences working with the people in the hobby. This deeply saddens me as a member of the hobby for over 15 years, but the people who have moved in now that it's "trendy" are not the people I want to do business with. Thank you for reading and understanding.
As someone who used to do commissions, I know what it’s like to be stressed out by people’s overly high expectations for how my artwork should look like and getting ghosted by someone(one project I spent hours and 1,000 of layers in the sketchbook). It was horrific. Please recover soon and know that you are human! 🩹❤️🩹
