STREET FIGHTER 6 (2023) ⤷ 1 moment from base roster + year 1 dlc critical arts
I used to be super big into playing SF4 back in the day, fell off during SF5, then rekindled an old flame through SF3. Well, after EVO two weeks ago I'm back on my bullshit. It's time to get into Street Fighter 6 for real. I always had an issue choosing a platform, but looks like PC is the move for this SF generation and I can't wait to dump time into learning a fighting game for the first in a long while!
Focusing on Today
Like most people, I find myself having a hard time not getting overwhelmed by the sheer amount of negative things going on in the world. Mix that with the unique experience I've lived, the traumas I've carried, and sometimes it feels like an impossibility to see beyond the fog of intense anguish.
I recently was able to reach a new level with my audio work, and you'd think that I'd feel real proud of myself for getting to these heights. But truthfully, I didn't feel really much of anything. Sure, the opportunity was really humbling and it also gave me proof that my skills have improved to garner special attention... and yet, my emotions were more stoic and unfeeling than anything.
I try to keep myself busy most days so that the thoughts and deep sorrow don't catch up to me, as I always want to be a step ahead of them so that way days aren't lost looking directly into the void. But like clockwork, those dark musings will find themselves creeping in and washing away my good vibes even when I try to put my best effort to fight them away.
I've come to accept that life is full of good and bad days, and that the bad days should just be allowed to happen so your mind and body can hopefully relieve the pressure built up over pent up negativity festering beneath the surface. And when I'm able to, confiding in those close to me absolutely helps me out to drain and flush the rotten energy away. And sure, talking about things doesn't bring about any tangible solutions, but being able to communicate and acknowledge my struggles can be just what the doctor ordered.
I'm trying hard to not look much into the rear view mirror as I move forward, even though with each step of progress I make I feel like all I wanna do is turn around and see how far I've made it. The peril in that, though, is that by reflecting on how far I've come also means looking at the casualties of the past that only bring me embarrassment, shame, and sorrow. But I gotta give it my best effort to do better, to live in the moment, to focus on today, as it were, and not always compare myself with past versions of myself.
Today felt like a new day, and without too much ruminating, I felt quite happy and proud of myself. I have accomplished a lot, I have tons of folks supporting me and who are in my corner. Sure, it may look different than the networks of support most people have, but I'll take what I can get, and I know without doubt that those who wanna see me succeed mean it truly. And that's worth a lot to me.

ATTACK ON TITAN: THE LAST ATTACK | 劇場版 進撃の巨人 完結編 THE LAST ATTACK 2024, dir. Yūichirō Hayashi
It doesn't matter how many times I've watched this movie, I will never not be at the edge of my seat and ready to cry my eyes out. One of my favorite things ever was this out of body experience when I went to Japan in late 2024 and just so happened to line up perfectly during the theater run for "The Last Attack". So when the movie ended and the new added post-credits scene was shown, where they actually show the movie poster as the characters are in the theater... I was like, "I'm literally there right now!!!" 😅
Lucky dir. John Carroll Lynch (2017)
Only have had this in my tbr list for like half a decade... so figured it's finally time to get into this and see what Carl had to say. Spoilers: it's already fantastic and I love him and his brain. RIP Mr. Sagan, your voice is needed now more than ever.

Mark Fischbach as Simon in Iron Lung, 2026.
A bit outta left field, but when I couldn’t get into some games I decided to call an audible and instead go into some deep seated trauma and share that with everyone. Yknow… like any other Thursday 😅
