“okay. not breaking.” she nods. she was barely hit by the piece but jumped out of the way. “im twelve. i can be left alone for few hours. what are you working on though?” she asked. she seemed genuinely curious as to what it was.

  Krel crossed his arms, thinking a moment. He was already frustrated with his device, but a child bugging him on top of it was beginning to give him a headache. Finally, he sighed, and the harsh edge on his expression softened some. Scientific curiosity was good, right? He should be encouraging her questions, as much as he disliked answering them.

    “This machine is an anti-gravity device. It’s usually so simple, but.. I had to improvise the parts a bit..,” he said, holding it up for her to see. He’d been planning to pull a revenge prank on a new kid-- a bully-- who’d decided Krel was the ideal target. “It... Makes things float. And people. Whatever is nearby, it makes it float.” Was he explaining this in simple enough terms for a kid? He had no idea. He’d had very little experience around anyone younger than high-school age.

   Krel jumped back, narrowly evading the object that had been flung in his direction. What had he just walked into??? Some sort of Troll-ish brawl? He knew he shouldn’t have come into the Trolls’ city for that part he needed. He’d hardly gotten used to humans, and Trolls were a whole other level of strange to him.

     “What–” He was cut off as he was forced to duck once more, dodging another item before taking a few steps back from the complete chaos that was on display before him.
