I find it kinda funny how on multiple occasions I start thinking about my Dragon Hunter AU and think "Man, I don't have anything to post about it but I still wanna show it off. I should go reblog some stuff from it" and then I remember that I've only made like... two posts about it lol.
Anyway I'm gonna do some ramblings about the characters and world and all that good junk. I also still need to come up with designs for most of the cast so maybe yapping about them will help give me motivation lol.
The dragons and mortals have been in conflict for a really long time, and it's mainly from the fact that Black Doom finds the mortals weak and is constantly trying to wipe them out, hence why groups of Dragon Hunters have been formed to fight against Black Doom and his army
Sonic is part of a group of Dragon Hunters with most of the other main cast. He's well known as the greatest Dragon Hunter to ever live which is why Black Doom orders Shadow to infiltrate the Dragon Hunters specifically so he can get close to Sonic and kill him.
Knuckles is the main leader of the Dragon Hunters. The group was sort of based on the resistance from Forces which is why I made Knuckles the leader. He's pretty well respected for his fighting abilities which is one of the reasons he became the leader.
Tails is the main blacksmith of the group. He makes the weapons for everyone and doesn't go out to fight as often, even though he really wants to. Occasionally Sonic lets him tag along as he sees a lot of Tails' potential as a Dragon Hunter.
Amy is one of the usual Dragon Hunters, but she also has an interest in magic, mainly fortune telling magic. Magic is usually something used by dragons, but mortals are capable of it as well, it just takes a lot more training and practice for them to use it properly. Amy is still a novice with magic.
Rouge is another Dragon Hunter, but she works more undercover and usually helps Knuckles with battle strategies and stuff like that. She's great at sneaking into enemy territory to figure things out. She's also very secretive which causes others not to trust her as much.
Vector's another Dragon Hunter. He doesn't have any other special roles in the group other than being one of their heavy hitters. He mainly joined up with the Dragon Hunters for Espio and Charmy's sake since large groups tend to have more security.
Espio is a sorcerer and probably the most skilled magic user in the group (at least until Silver shows up). He's learned magic over his many years of searching for a cure for his mysterious curse. His curse also gives him a boost in his magical abilities due to him having dragon blood because of it. The rest of the group isn't aware of his curse though (except for Vector, he knows)
Charmy is a child and isn't really old enough to be hunting dragons. Still though, he does his best to train so one day he can join in the fight. He's usually just the designated helper for anyone in camp who needs help with something.
When Shadow shows up, he tells the Dragon Hunters that he's from a distant kingdom and was sent out to hunt down dragons. They welcome him into the group since he's skilled in battle and he becomes one of the Dragon Hunters while also fighting against them as the Prince of the Dragons. He keeps to himself specifically because he's working as a spy and doesn't want the others to learn about his secret.
Silver also shows up and joins with the Dragon Hunters due to his goal of finding the Catalyst Dragon to save his future. He is very upfront about being from the future, and with his immense magical abilities, nobody really questions him on it too much.
So yeah, pretty much everyone is part of the group from the start except for Shadow and Silver who show up later and are the newest members of the group.
I might add more characters later, I've thought about adding Cream and Vanilla as well as maybe Tangle and Whisper, but I also don't want to have things too crowded, you know? I've also thought about how Blaze could fit into things, but I haven't been able to figure it out since I think it would be cool if she had some dragon connections but idk. If I do include her, I'll probably make her from a distant kingdom to fit in with her Sol Dimension backstory. But again, I don't want things to feel too overcrowded, especially with the fact that there's like.... four main characters (Sonic, Shadow, Silver and Espio)
