Smth I didn't say before is how refreshing of a character Niran is. So often, the character who fights for good (or at least against evil) is a rule follower, who is dedicated to their cause and what it represents. Or at LEAST has a traditionally kind or subdued demeanor. Niran isn't like that.

To put it bluntly, Niran is kind of an asshole lmao? He's also NOT willing to follow rules or traditions if he deems them to be against his own values. But despite being a (loveable) asshole, he has that balance between that, WHILE also being kind and dedicated. Idk, I just love him a lot 😭

Oh, hey, I haven't talked about this. Before Wu, I was already aware of Nani's very good acting ability. He's one of my favorite actors, of course, I was. But I was also aware of Sky's but only in the sense that I could tell.

By this I mean that I hadn't seen Sky in very many things, and most of what I'd seen him in didn't exactly present a stage for displaying his acting ability to its fullest extent, but I could tell he was good.

Wu is finally showing it. I'm finally getting to really see his acting ability. I'm going to speak mostly in terms of HSF and Wu because those are the ones I'm most familiar with, but the thing that made me kinda grin and go "damn, he's good" while I was watching yesterday's episode was the fact that Niran's smile is distinctly different from Saint's, and distinctly different from Sky's.

And then I kept noticing. Posture, how frustration is shown, anger, all of it exists and is shown differently within each character (and the actor himself) and Wu is giving him a stage in which we really get to see that.

Anyways, the point is, Sky's acting chops must be acknowledged.

This convo has always made me a little annoyed, not just cause of the dismissal of Parbdee. Maybe I'm delusional, but imo....GMMTV have had pretty good shows recently as well? Me and Thee, My Magic Prophecy, My Romance Scammer, The Heart Killers, Cat for Cash, The Eclipse, and so on. Not to mention the planned ones, like 17th Spring (which openly discusses HIV), Ticket to Heaven (discussing homophobia within Christianity), and other Parbdee projects like You Maniac and Round One? So to me, this discussion around the bls 'not being/looking as good' doesn't even make sense? I think people are just insecure at the mere THOUGHT of their faves not getting as much budget (which I've already said in my first EVER post how silly that is). Gmmtv isn't perfect (I watched ALL of only friends 2 and it might be one of the worst written shows ever made) but some people act like it's ALL garbage, and I don't buy it.

Again this is all my opinion lmao. Hopefully Parbdee gains more attention from this whole conversation at least 🤷‍♀️

SO. I've been thinking a lot about how the demons work in this show (while also bearing in mind that we're only 3 episodes in and there is definitely more to come lol)!

Anyway, I think Pete being an angry young guy is completely understandable given his life, and the protesters' anger is justified given the politician's complete lack of transparency and cooperation. What I'm noticing is that demonic influence feeds both violence and addiction. Pete and the protesters I doubt would escalate to physical violence and talks of overthrow if the demonic presence wasn't there. The yao in the gambler's den was encouraging the people there to push their luck to the point of losing. The demons take advantage of negative emotion and vulnerability and escalate it to the point of destructive and chaotic outcomes. The show could be commenting on 'inner demons'? The line between anger and violence? How feeding negativity is akin to feeding a demon? The nature of predators? A lot to think about 👀

Okay I guess this is a Wu fan account lmao?

So after sitting with this episode for a while, I just find it so funny that so many were calling this show 'not queer'. BESIDES Godji's casting, the mere idea of parents deciding that putting DEMON ESSENCE in their child was a more fitting solution than accepting their differences, can so clearly be taken as commentary on homophobia/transphobia AS WELL as ableism. Maybe more details will appear in future episodes, but so far, those parents are something else lmao.
