My heart is breaking. We still need $920 to buy the medications that keep my mother and father alive. They are elderly, sick, and depend on these medicines every day. I try to stay strong in front of them, but inside I am terrified. I cannot bear the thought of watching their health decline simply because we cannot afford the treatment they need.💔

I keep staring at the remaining amount and wondering how I can save them. Yet if only 37 people donated $25 each, we could reach our goal. For many, $25 may be a small expense, but for my parents it could mean receiving the medicine that helps them continue their fight against illness.

For Hossam and Hanan Al-Qazzaz, this nightmare is reality.

The couple and their four young children (living in a tent constructed by Hossam on the ruins of their former home) are enduring freezing temperatures in a damaged tent that offers little protection from ongoing storms.

In an update posted to the family’s GoFundMe campaign, Hossam described the worsening conditions:

“Winter has begun, and we were hit by a wave of heavy rain. Sadly, the rain leaked into our tent in the middle of the night and damaged almost everything. Another wave of rain is expected in the next few days, and we haven’t been able to repair our tent yet. Prices here in Gaza are very high, and we haven’t received any donations for a while.”

Hossam went on to write that the family cannot afford the nylon and wood required to reinforce the tent and construct a private bathroom, (the family is relying instead on overcrowded and unclean public facilities). They also lack clothing warm enough to protect their children from the cold.

 “Another ongoing problem is food," Hossam writes, "which we see in the markets but can’t afford.”

Before the war, Hossam worked steadily to support his family. They had a home, security, and hope for the future.

Those dreams collapsed when airstrikes destroyed their house.

For more than two years now, the Al-Qazzaz family has lived exposed to harsh weather and roaming vermin (LINK). Earlier this year, the family miraculously survived their tent being bombed as they slept. (LINK) Hossam has walked miles to aid sites and survived being shot at just to provide his family with what little food he could get. (LINK).

The youngest child, Habiba, has cried from hunger when baby formula was financially out of reach. For the Al-Qazzaz family, each day brings tighter scarcity and greater fear.

At the start of the war, the family’s goal was to evacuate to safety outside Gaza. But with evacuation costing roughly €5,000 per person, was forced to readjust their goal to simply surviving.

Compounding their struggle, the family’s social media accounts (through which they attempt to raise awareness) are frequently locked or deleted. Posts are taken down without explanation; cruel censorship many Palestinians are facing across all social media platforms.

The family's cries for help are being buried, but we will not allow them to be erased.

We will continue to amplify their voices until the world listens.

• Funds toward future evacuation when borders reopen.

“All we want is to live in dignity.” Hossam wrote to us earlier this year.

Abdul sent me an estimate on the monthly necessities his group needs to fundraise. If we could have donations mostly cover this every month, it'd mean that my money could support him more through emergencies. In the past I've been supporting them for stuff like rent and food on my own and then fundraising for emergencies but it's more stable to try it the other way around, because that would mean I could save up more for emergencies and wouldn't have to try to scrape together the money in a very short time frame.

This video shows ongoing, systematic demolitions in Gaza.

Homes are being destroyed, neighborhoods cleared, and entire areas wiped out even now, while a ceasefire is supposedly in place.

People are watching their houses disappear piece by piece.

Not during fighting.

Not in the middle of airstrikes.

But after everything, when they were told it was safe to breathe again.

The destruction didn’t stop.

It just became quieter.

These images show displacement tents set up right next to a heavily damaged building.

The building was hit before and is leaning, at risk of collapsing at any moment.

Families are living in these tents because they have no other place to go.

There are no safe areas left, no intact homes, no shelters to move to.

Leaving this spot doesn’t mean safety it just means being displaced again.

So people stay.

Not because they feel protected,but because this is the last option they have They sleep knowing the building beside them could fall.

They wake up hoping it doesn’t.

This is not temporary living This is forced survival.
