funniest way to confirm that lars is trans is if he just. casually says it. like this is a TV-14 show and it’s 2025, we’ve had characters say they’re trans on shows before, it’s a completely different media landscape than when SU was originally coming out. but imagine he just mentions a story from his past and then goes “oh yeah haha i was so insecure about how i looked back then cause i’m trans” and the gems go “what’s trans?” and he goes “don’t worry about it” and it never comes up again

Really is interesting to me how Steven Universe remains hands down the most consistently and deliberately non-evil cartoon in terms of it's depiction of fat people. You don't notice how consistently it's putting it's money where its mouth is on that point until you watch like literally any other cartoon

its nice to see stuff like this because it reminds you that theyre actually the weird ones. their rhetoric just relies on them portraying themselves as "voices of the people" fighting for what no one else will stand up for, despite most people probably thinking their behavior is embarrassing and not worth it. open terfs, racists, nazis, homophobes, misogynists, general transphobes- are all just extremely pissed off and angry minorities that make it everyone else's problem as much as they possibly can so that they seem bigger than they are. that doesnt mean they arent dangerous, it just means we can win. we've got a fighting chance against these losers.
