May is Mental Health Awareness Month!

many people suffer from invisible illness, including steven!

it can be really hard to open up about mental health, but remember that the illness in your head is just as valid as any other 

i have been struggling with my own mental health most of my life; it has affected my time in school, college, and even my ability to draw and create. because of it, i have fallen behind many of my peers, and i am not where i wish i could be. in the past few years, i have begun to seek help for my illness and have begun my own process of healing

i hope you will be able to heal as well! just like steven has!

This comic is based on a combination of my personal thoughts and experiences and Steven Universe Future’s plot. I’ve decided to binge watch the series from season 1 up to season 6 this quarantine season, and I didn’t think Steven Universe especially the last season would resonate with me a lot. I didn’t really grow up with the series like its’ audience since it was the time I got the busiest but I think I would never appreciate the series so much if I watched it when I was younger. So, I wanted to pour my energy into something different while also pouring down a piece of my honest thoughts I had these past few years. I won’t ask you to watch the series like I did but I hope you’ll find time to slow down, take care of yourself, and find your happiness. I’m not really good at writing so I’m sorry about that pffft, to the ones who read this what I consider “long” description, thanks to coming to my ted talk 👌 Take care 💫

This pride month, we fight for everyone. Make your voices be heard, because you matter. I can't even imagine what it must be like to be a black person, but I know what it's like to struggle to make people understand, to have to deal with their ignorance and hatred, to feel like you have to justify yourself for being born a certain way. The LGBT community stands with you. Black lives matter. Happy pride month. Fight for equality, fight for what's right. YOU are important.
