Good morning from this side!
It's definitely, super like tough life out there, but am also good, otherwise as well.
A random post for today!
As I look back in time, I perceive while sailing through the matrix of happy work, I only skim through the orbit of emotions around. Also when talk is going around you, not all slurs or mockery deserve attention especially when you yourself are going through emotional overregulation that is necessary.
At these times true friends who genuinely care are good to have.
Then again when you try to be good and start to bat but get a curve ball!
Noise, front and back is like a radio station distracting, but most times you don't tune in to the vibe at work as you just get on with your work. The pit-stops at work, the walks, the lunches and the milk/tea/coffees :) are a good connect. Though it's piecemeal chit chat and you are evolving in your own world.
Same thing goes with this post, some may read, some may ignore, but this is my thought for today.
Pic for the day is sprouts that came out lovely, I just won't have too big of a portion, it's my hubby KK's favourite and here's also a recent pic of me driving!
Life is short, do your best happy version of it!
Happy Thursday!
Good morning from this side! Today's report - read if you have patience and time!
What works and what doesn't! Mid back injury (repeat feat 😔 in April) After 2 weeks rest and 2.5 months of overwork and trying:
Literally can't flap my wings (hands) - the hinge is in the middle
Can't sit for long, need pillow in upper back and movement every 1 hr
Cooking has to be moderate due to midpoint exertion, no rush, no stress coz it translates as back pain, Same on office work front
No dish washing mid point pain again
No auto travel, abdomen and back muscles get pricky and inflamed
No heavy lifting up or down (anyways due to my inherent Spondylolisthesis - light crack in lumbar)
Weights close to body or mid level like Backpack as advised by doctor
Sleep on medium resilient mattress, not sinking in too much and not pushing too much, else causes back sway
Sway has settled - shouldn't move mattresses across rooms and other stuff like that like its easy peasy
Was doing things like this even earlier recently during shifting house and should avoid
No exercise for now except holistic movement, walking here and there and bending up and down occasionally but not too much, just one type of movement also not good, again pain, strain or weakness in other spots, that's why holistic
Travel occasionally and spaced out with other work is fine
Meditation every day morning after school shift before starting work has worked out well in giving calm - side benefit
Weekends shouldn't be busier, some rest needed and so do walk, outing etc only if I don't cook, can't do everything all together
Probably same for everyone but a bit more so for me
So folks, wish you well, think smart be happy!
Thought for the day, month, year :)

#FinTechSnippets #AIforUnderwriting #AIforClaims
AI in Indian insurance automates risk assessment and claims evaluation.
Underwriting uses AI to analyze massive datasets for personalized pricing, while Claims use it for instant processing and fraud detection.
Together, these tools reduce processing times from weeks to hours, achieving up to 60% straight-through processing for standard applications.
Instead of underwriters manually reading applications, AI extracts data from medical histories, financial records, and location parameters to instantly build risk profiles.
Personalized Pricing: AI engines enable micro-segmentation, allowing insurers to offer hyper-customized premiums based on localized data and individual risk variables.
Straight-Through Processing (STP): Simple, low-risk policies (e.g., standard term life or basic motor) are auto-approved, letting underwriters focus only on complex, high-value cases.
Automated First Notice of Loss (FNOL): When a claim is filed, AI instantly reads attachments—such as hospital bills or repair estimates—to check for completeness and classify the claim type.
Fraud Detection: Machine learning algorithms cross-reference claims against historical data and local, real-time datasets (like KYC and Aadhaar in India) to flag suspicious patterns or identity mismatch.
Intelligent Triage & Auto-Settlement: Standard claims are processed and approved for payouts without human intervention, while complex cases are routed to the appropriate human adjuster with an AI-generated summary of the incident

Reposted with simple inverted pyramid pic
All that you perceive about anything may not be fully true!
Here is my second post today with the inverted pyramid look of me as opposed to the front view pic 😂
Have you played this game as an icebreaker question?
Name three animals in your order of preference
Are you ready
And so it says
The first animal is how you see yourself
The second is how people see you
And the third is how you actually are!
Isn't that grounding 😂
And here is an interesting fact about inverted pyramid concept in communication
"The inverted pyramid is a communication and writing structure that prioritizes the most crucial information at the beginning, followed by supporting details in decreasing order of importance. It ensures the core message is understood immediately, even if the reader stops halfway through"
Refreshing morning walk!
Quiet morning and thanks to an early Friday evening, woke up rested and ready to spend those lovely peaceful moments with my daughter Sanjana
Simple fare from the local canteen topped up with a tall glass of fresh juice
#GratefulMornings 😊
Essence of the book #OvercomingOverwork in my lens:
Have a value driven approach to work, do what's meaningful to you and you'll learn to do enough instead of measuring the hours you put in
Reject hustle culture, reframe your job as a craft you're trying to hone
Delegate not just to reportees but to peers, it makes them feel valued and respected and gives an opportunity to collaborate more
Prevent burnout by working smarter
Make emotional and physical well-being a priority
Use Premack's principle, like rewarding yourself for finishing a cognitively demanding task by completing a low-key but necessary task
Learning to say no - Saying no makes the difference between a packed schedule and an open one
Avoid maladaptations at work like the need to be perfect, need to fit in to rise and the need to sacrifice to succeed
Carve out time for yourself, like batteries need to be recharged taking breaks can help employees recharge
Fostering flexibility into policies and practices and sustainable ways of working
Be the change

Metro ride was an enjoyable experience for Sanju or so I think.
As a parenting task I try to take her now and then in public transport, even the usual bus to get her and me out of our normal comfort zones.
The metro ride from Alandur to Thirumangalam station was a good journey, this was around 3-4 years back when we set out to meet my college friends and their kids at a close friend's place.
Getting the single ticket without streaming through with a digital pass, navigating through the security gate one by one - this one was particularly tough, as we both hold hands and go together always.
Eagerly waiting for the train to arrive on the platform, watching the announcements of the upcoming station, trying to find the elevator and which is the right exit out, all of it is adventurous from the regular planned daily commutes we have.
Finally good chatting over tea and biscuits and the kids getting to know each other and playing was a wonderful experience.

#YouGotThis #BookReview
#tagline #mustReadinCurrentTimes
Though marked for young adult audience, this is a wonderful book on self awareness and purpose for all ages
Resonated with various struggles described like overthinking, what others think about you, people pleasing and how meditation, self love and self confidence can help you stride through those problems
Most self help books increasingly recommend writing a journal with notes of gratitude and something that I from personal experience recommend for greater mental well being and clarity.
Kudos to #GiannaMago for navigating through this delicate topic.
Please do give a read.
#KidsWorkshops
this generation of kids have a whole lot of good happening to them, the various kids workshops like baking, painting, games as a formal play date make kids get together and learn something meaningful together! Agreed that they don't have street cricket and unplanned play with stones and sand but today's world is different
Sanjana had a good Sunday pizza making experience, the ingredients were nicely laid out by the head chef, what we did:
step 1) roll the dough into a huge pizza circle
step 2) drizzle cheese
step 3) lay out choice of toppings and spices
and lo! pizza is ready to get into the oven
and while we have some coffee and mikshake respectively, the chef neatly puts our masterpiece into the oven and there you go, we get our lovely pizza in 10 min!
All in all, a Sunday afternoon well spent!

Compliance, Trust and Agility
Regulatory Compliance is the core to the stability of the organization, and this should be the primary priority and the foundation on which trust is built for the consumers of its services, as evidenced from the company’s annual reports and other published documentation. Secondly trust is built from the financial performance viewed from the Earnings calls of the organization and as well built from Digital and mobile banking guides that illustrate the cybersecurity features in today’s tech driven era. Last but not the least is agility and must go hand-in-hand with building compliance and trust as it is the differentiator when it comes to customer’s choice. Leading example in the current world is a company’s alignment and usage of AI, for example like agentic AI in closing Lending deals or using ML models for Fraud Detection in Banking transactions.
#FinTechSnippets
Cashless Vs. Digital Future
Digital payments will likely not completely replace cash in India in the near term but rather create an economy where cash and digital coexist. Cash needs to remain essential for rural, informal, and small-value transactions.
A "hybrid" model is the most realistic outcome, with cash serving as a safety net in rural areas where network issues, fear of fraud, and data security concerns persist.
There are several risks that are important critical to manage:
Digital payment frauds have increased significantly more over the last 5 years.
Frequent power cuts and poor 4G connectivity in rural areas interrupt transactions.
Seniors and those with low digital literacy are vulnerable to phishing, SIM swap attacks, leading to loss of life savings.
Increasing adoption requires addressing trust and ease of use.
For Senior Citizens, we can propose to designate a "trusted person" to verify transactions of high value adding a layer of security. Organizing training to guide seniors on using apps safely.
For Rural Folks, we can have Offline Payment Solutions like UPI Lite to allow payments in zero-connectivity areas.
We can have bank folks and village-level entrepreneurs to provide personalized, local language training.
Trust can be addressed by providing a quick resolution window for rural digital fraud even for low value claims.
In the near future, non-cash payments are expected to become dominant, but a full removal of cash would exclude significant portions of the population, making a hybrid, cash-plus-digital approach the most sustainable path forward.
#FinTechSnippets #AlternativeCreditHistory
In India, traditional credit scoring relies heavily on past credit bureau history to evaluate risk. In contrast, alternative credit scoring utilizes non-traditional data like digital transactions and mobile behaviour to assess borrowers. This is crucial in India for bringing millions of "new-to-credit" individuals into the financial system. Youth and the under-served who do not have a formal credit history can be offered credits through alternate credit history tracking.
Primary Data Sources for Traditional are Repayment history on past loans, credit cards, and outstanding debts whereas for Alternate model they are UPI/mobile wallet transactions, utility bill payments, and telecom usage.
While the Evaluation Method for Traditional relies on a standardized 3-digit score (e.g., CIBIL) calculated by formal bureaus, Alternative uses AI and machine learning algorithms to analyze behavioural and transactional patterns.
Traditional models exclude a vast segment of the Indian population—such as informal workers, first-time borrowers, and rural micro-entrepreneurs—because they lack a structured credit history. Alternative scoring bridges this massive credit gap by utilizing the country's booming digital infrastructure (like UPI and mobile data) to measure a borrower's financial reliability.
For example, a lender might evaluate consistent prepaid mobile recharges, e-commerce activity, or regular utility bill payments instead of past loan data to approve a loan. By doing so, fintech lenders and banks can increase credit approval rates for underserved individuals.
By integrating these non-traditional data points, modern underwriting models are expanding financial inclusion, allowing lenders to accurately price risk for millions of previously "invisible" borrowers.
Having said that, using alternative data—non-traditional metrics like satellite imagery, web scraping, and mobile footprints—creates major hurdles for compliance. Key challenges include bypassing explicit user consent, re-identification risks of "anonymized" datasets, lack of transparency in algorithmic decision-making and legal liabilities.
When using alternate data for credit scoring in India, lenders must navigate a strict dual-compliance framework. The Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA) and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) enforce strict guardrails regarding consent, data localization, and transparency.
With all these controls in place Alternative credit scoring is a boon for the underserved.

Unwinding after exams on a relaxed Saturday morning where daughter fixed her own breakfast :)
#NeverGiveUp
2021 total body pain for months together, had medication to boost energy and immunity
2022 Had lower right back compression, did bridges and sarvangaasana
2023 Had a whole body seizure like experience, had rest and medication, both mental and physical
2024 Did a mobility hack and got abdomen muscle pull
2025 Had swallowing problem due to stress and another episode later of back drag due to wrong weight training
2026 gym mishap had mid back acute pain and bladder weakness
All the time grateful to have bounced back with right doctors guiding me and getting back to doing running, tennis, walking and yoga.
Current symptom is flank pain, hope no kidney damage, all organs like lungs and heart also at risk when back sways or has wrong curvature
But one thing that stays is my #NeverGiveUp attitude and my hubby's strong support by my side.
Sharing this just a message to all those who are down with health or other problems, keep showing up, seek help as needed and even if no support, be your own backing, funny if back itself is a problem, but self love and care is a must, pat yourself for all the good things you've done and bounce back from the not so good stuff!
Happy Sunday!
