First they've got the camera zoomed out, to show everybody on the sofa

Then, when Noel starts to play, the cameraperson zooms in on him, centring him in the frame

BUT THEN Noel looks over at Liam so fondly, and they do their little unspoken I-love-you exchange, that classic head tilt of affection

And the cameraperson realises they guessed wrong when deciding what to focus on in this scene: it's not just Noel playing his song that will be the centre of attention for the viewers, but rather the energy in the air between the brothers, that almost tangible locus of love

So they adjust the framing in order to have both Noel and Liam on screen for the rest of the song

And after that, even when Noel briefly has exchanges with others offscreen (first Guigsy, later one of the interview crew, I presume), the cameraperson doesn't even THINK about moving the camera. It stays firmly trained on the Gallaghers in their bubble of love – a decision that certainly pays off (e.g. when they catch Liam's reaction to Noel playing the wrong chord towards the end of the song).

can you imagine loving someone this devoutly & entirely. i do believe he has dwelled on the gaping hole in his soul every single day for the past 15 years

their pre-oasis relationship and lives in general are probably the most nebulous part of it. it's very hard to tell how they went from normal brothers to allofthat. and they've said some things that make me think there's some very dark undisclosed trauma there.

their other brother's book is interesting because it's very revealing of the family dynamics, but when it comes to noel and liam's relationship there's this blind spot. in fact he barely talks about it in the book.

and the truth of their relationship seems to be constantly shifting based on its status. they're getting along? oh they always hanged out together. not getting along? oh they never hanged out together anyway.

their fights/acrimony are both very real and both very exaggerated, so it's hard to tell what's going on sometimes, especially in the estrangement period.
