I don't understand how cis people obsessed with gender norms think trans people are the weird ones. they're going around believing that your name has to correlate to your genitals. your fashion has to correlate to your genitals. your behaviours have to correlate to your genitals. your hobbies have to correlate to your genitals. who you date has to correlate to your genitals. whether you can put sparkles on your eyelids or not has to correlate to your genitals. and then people like me go "hmm. I might not do that. maybe I'll just do what feels fun and okay instead" and they LOSE their MINDS

ballet has to be one of the best metaphors out there for what femininity feels like. there is so much hardwork, sweat, strength, tears, effort, rage, rawness in it and yet it is marketed like this delicate pink thing with bows on it. the ballet aesthetic does not include how much pain it takes to be that elegant. it's life consuming. and gym bros are still like "that's not a sport". then of course there are the toxic mysogynist standards of what a ballerina must look like. there is so much blood behind that beauty. it costs something to be that perfect. it is an act of creating beauty from self destruction. you must bleed, but you have to do so in secret. the way i have seen people break in their ballet shoes? it's violent. it's agressive. it is pretty for the audience but not for the dancer. they forget it is a performance, that it didn't just come naturally. the internet is still only obsessed with the aesthetic elements of it. if that isn't the average experience of a woman idk what is.
