I mean, this is a good point, but I have to add so what if they are? "Heterosexual women like to look at men sexually, not women." This is news to people?

On one hand, you are right. Straight women can enjoy whatever media they want and if the porn they want is full with hot men, who the actual fuck cares. However. I am personally profoundly annoyed by the constant insistence that most of queer media is enjoyed by straight women because it grossly erases the fact that, oh yeah, QUEER PEOPLE LIKE QUEER MEDIA. Like, we are here??? Many of us are the ones MAKING that content? We are the ones keeping the fandoms alive? We are the ones recommending it to each other? Even if some of us are cis women dating cis straight men, they are still queer and they do not deserve to have their queerness erased by anyone because they dared to explore queerness through fiction. We are not a tiny little minuscule minority with no voice, no art, no culture and no passion that these fuckers just get to ignore just because they want an "acceptable" kind of women they can be misogynistic towards to. Our stories matter to us and it matters that it came from us. Not to mention, in my experience, straight people are not as invested in queer stories (and yes, the plural is intentional) as queer people are. They don't mean the same for straight people, even when is just fucking smut, so they don't attach themselves to it in the same way. Can there be exceptions, sure, but the vast majority of straight people, even straight women, just don't seek these stories with the same hunger and desperation that queer people do. This doesn't mean that straight people as a whole can't enjoy that media for whatever reason, but we talking about numbers here. So I really want to know from where THE FUCK do people get out to say that "majority of straight women like BL" and pretend that is not queer erasure, on top of feeding into mysognistic arguments about how these "gross women" are "appropriating queerness" somehow. Because literally everything I have ever seen in fandom and queer fiction spaces proves already that is not and has never been a thing.
