How come Ryan Reynolds can go around pretty much pretending he’s Deadpool all the time and Marvel come out with the movie and no one makes fun of it, and thinks it’s great but Jared Leto does some crazy stuff to try and get in character for a role he’s super excited about and having fun and it becomes a meme and he’s trying to be “edgy”?

Because Ryan Reynolds didn’t send his co-stars used condoms and dead animals.

Also Ryan Reynolds isn’t claiming to be edgy because he’s becoming ‘mentally ill’ due to the character he plays, thus exasperating negative stereotypes about mental illness as something dangerous and ‘twisted’

Because Ryan Reyolds isn’t a total dickhead.

Plus Ryan Reynolds is a cool dude

Ryan Reynolds is acting like Deadpool the same way Robert Downey Junior acts like Tony Stark: they make jokes on twitter and in interviews and stuff, plus their real personalities match up to the character’s a bit to begin with. Jared Leto is going out of his way to be a dick to people and making serious claims that he’s becoming the Joker or whatever. It’s not really the same thing.
