Minimum Requirements for becoming a Gateway
The Gatewayd Basic web based application on gatewayd.org is purely designed for gateway administration, and to provide an example client application using the Gatewayd API.
In order to become a Ripple gateway your business must connect payments from one financial network to payments on the ripple network. Gatewayd significantly simplifies connecting your gateway to the Ripple network, from both a human administrator perspective and a programmatic API perspective. You will need to set up a way for users to transfer funds to and from your gateway, such as via Paypal, wire transfer, physical drop off, or Bitcoin.
Next on the roadmap for Gatewayd is a standard API for third parties to utilize your gateway. Learn about our standard Gateway Protocol and do please throw in your feedback. In the mean time you need to build user registration system that can gather the legally-required identity information (if any) from users of your gateway.
