I’m starting this blog to track my progress with homesteading. I hope to complete tasks like growing fruits & vegetables, baking sourdough, brewing kombucha, cooking from scratch, and canning & preserving food. I’m homesteading in the suburbs so I’m a bit limited in what I can do. Someday, I hope to have chickens/ducks, cows and honey bees.

I’m a 23 year old woman of Caribbean heritage. I’m in Canada and will be running this account from plant hardiness zone 5b. I’m currently finishing off my 3rd year in a bachelor’s program. I love films, cats, crafts, eating, and learning.

My leave-in conditioner has hydrolyzed vegetable protein and hydrolyzed wheat protein.

The vegetable one is plant protein made into whatever a peptide is. From what I’ve read, a peptide is just broken down proteins which are amino acids. 💡

Commercials are making more sense loool.

This protein should provide temporary repair, strength, and hydration.

The wheat protein is also made of amino acids. It should increase hair durability(idk how to describe), decrease breakage, more shine and volume, anddd allow better moisture retention.

Both proteins are hydrolyzed which in my words means they’re activated by water. This process of breaking down proteins using water is called hydrolysis. Protein has to be broken down to enter the hair shaft:)

It’s easy to go into protein overload, but I’ve found using these kinds of proteins to be appropriate for casual use in my fine hair.
