First and foremost, I will be addressing Technolarp as Striker as that is what he's known as before the larping.

Is it weird to roleplay as a dead guy? Yes. However, roleplaying as dead people has already been a thing for decades. We have people acting like Michael Jackson, Elvis and Marilyn Monroe. The notable differences here is MJ knew about his impersonators and was okay with it and other impersonators happened long after the deaths of the people they're impersonating. Striker is roleplaying as a person who hasn't been dead for as long and whose family and friends are still mourning.

I see people saying that if Technoblade was still alive he would think the larping is funny, but that's just it. He's not, which means we will never know what he actually thinks about it. So stop assuming.

What we do know however is how the people who Technoblade was close to are reacting to this. We have people like Tubbo and Sneeg who not only find it weird, but also feel deeply uncomfortable about someone roleplaying as their friend who died. And they are valid for that. Imagine your friend who died and then there's this random person who sounds like them and is roleplaying as them. Like, what would you even feel about that?

We have Skeppy, who reached out to Striker for a collab (people have been saying that it's weird for Striker to be contacting Skeppy when Skeppy reached out first) and people are out here saying how Skeppy was weird for doing that and the weirdest ones saying that Skeppy was doing this for clout because he was falling off, which is just... what? As if they have any say about Technoblade's FRIEND (I'm emphasizing this because people are so parasocial and no matter how you feel about him, he was Technoblade's friend and they knew each other personally) doing his own thing. Whether or not it's healthy for Skeppy is not something for us to decide or assume.

There's also the people who haven't said anything at all, like Tommy, Phil, and Dream. If they want to say something, they will. If they don't then they won't, so please don't pester them about this.

Then, of course, we have Technodad. And people really need to stop putting words into his mouth. He made himself clear about what he feels about this. He said he doesn't know how to feel. He didn't say he was uncomfortable and he didn't say he was okay with Striker either. This man is a grieving father, and people are trying to back him into a corner and pressuring him to make a conclusive statement. Stop doing that.

From his recent post on reddit, it also seemed like he wanted people to stop talking about this entire Technolarp situation (which is ironic considering this post, which is why this will be the only post I make about the entire thing). Not to mention he seems to be making jokes about it too.

He has also said that he views Striker like how he views those Tribute Bands. Which are bands that performs, or in a way, copy, specific bands. Think simply, bands who aren’t ABBA performing ABBA songs. Which I think is actually an accurate way of looking at the larptubers and larping in general.

LARP is an acronym, Live Action Role Play. Most larptubers started larping because it was a trend started by Larpiplier and they did it not for clout or fame, but because these people genuinely missed the nostalgic feeling of YouTube back in 2016 and before. And genuinely, most of them never actually asked for permission before they started larping, they just did it. Which is probably what Striker also did.

You could argue that it's different because, unlike these other larptubers, Striker is larping as someone who passed away recently and someone who people still grieve. Still there is a difference between roleplaying as someone and claiming outright that they are that person, whcoh Striker has already said multiple times that he's not Technoblade and he never will be.

From what I can see, Striker is a young dude, someone told him he sounded like Technoblade and when larping was becoming a trend, he decided to become a larptuber so, in his own words, he can bring some comfort to those who still grieve Technoblade's death. Of course, as seen in the past few days, not everyone liked this.

I doubt he thought he would get this big, I doubt any of the larptubers would actually think the entire larping thing would actually grow this fast. The reason why Striker is even getting traction is simply the fact that he sounds like Technoblade. I firmly believe that if he didn’t, most people wouldn’t even bat an eye. They would think it's weird, but ultimately they wouldn't care. I say this because before Technolarp, someone was already going around as Larpnoblade.

I do agree that Striker should have waited for explicit permission from Technodad about larping as Technoblade, but again, Striker is a young dude who didn't think that far and most likely only contacted Technodad once he was getting traction. And by that point, he already had uploaded a few videos and a stream or two. Now, especially after people were starting to blow things out of proportion, Striker has decided to put the channel on hiatus, it remains to be seen if the hiatus is temporary or permanent. Considering that Technoblade's friends are not okay with the larping then that should be enough to stop the channel right?

From what was revealed in the discord, Technodad did talk with Skeppy about Striker. We don't know what exactly they talked about, but it doesn’t seem that Technodad is totally against the larping. Adding on, I joined the larp discord nearly 2 weeks ago and it has been revealed by one of the admins that they have been working closely with Team Technoblade. About what, I don’t know. So we can say that conversations are being had behind the scenes. But that's just me speculating so take it with a grain of salt.

Another thing to talk about. Whether Striker is genuinely benefiting from this. From what I've seen, he isn't. He didn't plan to make money from it, and people should really stop thinking that. He went as far as to make a community post on his channel about whether he should make money from it or donate everything to charity. Most people voted for him to have 50% of the money and the other to be donated to charity. I voted for 75% be donated and 25% to go to him, because he's making the content and I do think that he should get at least something out of it. Right now, he's not monetized and the only money he's actually getting are from people who donated directly to him. Most of the people that do donate are donating directly to the charity Striker has linked in his streams.

I agree that it's disrespectful to Technoblade's family and friends to suddenly find out that a random guy is acting like him. But I also agree that so far, Striker is being respectful to Technoblade's legacy. I would've said that larping Technoblade is disrespectful if Striker was tarnishing his reputation, which he's not, but it still hurts for Technoblade's loved ones.

Does any of this make Striker a bad person? No. He's not an all knowing guy who can predict everyone's thoughts and opinions. Someone was even saying that he was being manipulative and I just.. sometimes it amazes me just how much people love to spew shit from behind the safety of a screen.

Is there a moral discussion to be had? Yes, because although Striker didn't have any malicious intentions that doesn't mean that his actions don't have any negative effects, especially for the people close to Technoblade.

The question now is "Should Striker continue on as Technolarp or should he rebrand and delete the channel entirely?" Striker has already said a month ago that if Technodad told him to stop then he would. Hypixel saying that Technodad would be the villain for either options is just such a bad take. Not everything is in black and white. Striker already agreed to take stop the channel way before this entire thing.

I doubt anyone on Striker's side would actually view Technodad as the villain if he tells Striker to stop. After all, the people who flcoked to Striker were most likely fans of Technoblade and it's unlikely that they would go against Technodad. It's already been decided by the community, specifically Striker's community that whatever Technodad decides, they would follow through, if he ever does make a decision. Out of everyone, Striker has been firm that he'll only listen to Technodad while still considering the opinions of others. It's also likely that he never will give a definitive answer, and that's okay. He doesn't have to. This isn't a movie with a light side and a dark side. That's just putting Technodad into a corner.

What's not acceptable is people doxxing and sending death threats to Striker. Whether you like him or not, you don't have the right to be actively harassing and threatening him. There have been people on twitter saying that they would have doxxed Striker if he roleplayed as their dead friend and then thousands of people are agreeing with them?? I understand not liking him, but to go as far as to put him and his family in danger??? That's just absolutely insane! It's gotten to the point where the discord was being locked down because there were people joining to cause trouble. Stop that. Whatever their thoughts, neither Technodad or Technoblade would want someone to be in danger because of this.

I want my sad, pathetic, scooped, purple, decaying michael that no matter what he does or how hard he tries, he will never be able to escape his father’s crimes or his own past, not the one with flat ass hair!!
