Both achieve ideal gender presentation for their society, which makes both of them get weird, nostalgic Lannister psuedo-mentors they never asked for, who they could snark on together (and could snark on them together but also express concern about whether they’re right on certain things, and help each other figure out when they’re being gaslighted).

They both love songs and have put a lot of stock in believing in what society has taught them to, but now they’re both grappling with realizing parts of that are a huge myth designed to keep them complacent. Parts of that are easier for one to understand than the other, and they help each other cope. Also, they can compare favorite songs and share happy memories connected with them.

Having someone to come out to who isn’t in his family would be SO THERAPEUTIC to Loras, like it’s clear through his HUGE hinting to Jaime in ASOS after Jaime makes it clear he knows that Loras is dying to talk about Renly to somebody, and Sansa would love to hear it. Sansa would think their love would be one for the songs and she wouldn’t laugh when he said stuff like “when the sun has set”, she would get it so completely

Loras would be so horrified at the thought of losing a member of his family, he would be SO sympathetic to Sansa and be so fiercely protective of her, good grief (no pun intented)
