Mapping Out "Friendship" || Lethe & Chrom
A girl?
— Yes, the voice he heard did belong to a girl. She was quick with polite manners too. But what came next surprised him, but only for a few seconds, when he quickly assumed the girl to be something similar to a taguel. Her features resembled that of a cat more than a rabbit, but she was part animal as well, something she had in common with two people in the vigilantes.
Moving along, Chrom nodded to the girl’s question. Again, she was polite and calm, although the king himself was far from acting as a respectful heir. His manners were always too casual, more so than his younger sister. Though at this point, a lot of people were used to his behaviour, however, this was usually a surprise to strangers — perhaps for this girl too.
Even though he was casual in his manners, at least he was a kind man.
❝Sure thing, but we should get to a more comfortable place for that — if that’s all right with you.❞
*No sign of alarm, much less a negative reaction. He is kinder than they let on- and perhaps an even greater ruler than I had understand him to be. That sort of display...it is a rare find in this world. In fact only one other has been this way- oddly enough, sharing that particular blue hue of hair...*
The laguz mused to herself as she nodded in approval at the king's suggestion. For a simple stranger to come up to you and question you, he was very calm and considerate about it. In fact, it almost seemed her forwardness was waved in total disregard.
Humans...what odd beings.
"Of course. I..realize I am the guest in your company, so please, proceed as you see fit. My apologies for not even considering that...but once that is settled, I'll explain everything from my curiosities to my purpose of traveling here."
Cat got Your Tongue? [Masterseal Open]
The young knight followed the woman quietly, glancing around to see if one of her sisters really would come by. There was doubt in her heart that such a thing would occur, but it was good to keep a positive mindset. After a minute or two, she sped up to walk closer to the other. No sense in losing another person, after all!
"My sister looks a little bit like me, except taller and with long, beautiful blue hair." Naturally she would go to describe her sister, Fiora. "Yes, she is a Pegasus Knight as well! She’s one of the very best… or at least I believe she is. She’s also got blue armor on, so she should be really easy to spot out!"
"Blue hair...and blue armor... I see. I shall keep that in mind in my watch."
Somewhere down the line, Lethe ended up imagining a much older, bolder looking pegasus knight, (much in contrast with the actual Fiora's appearance) but never the less tried to be vigilant in her search. It was hard to not know what to truly look for...but if anything was a major give away it would be the pegasus. Even in Tellius, not many rode the wings of such a majestic creature.
After her the moment to herself, Lethe turned to give another gentle smile, this time encouraging the other to take her look around town. It must surely been disheartening to be separated from kin. Even humans have emotions ties.
"Travel as you wish~ I will remain here in case you need to return. If you do find your sister, do not fret if you decide not to notify me. I trust you'll be in capable hands by then if the results end positively. After all, I'm sure your sister is just as worried...."
Mapping Out "Friendship" [Lethe/Chambray]
"L-Laguz?!" Chambray exclaimed, utterly surprised. Laurent had told the taguel tales of the laguz while at a fair, but he had excepted to meet a real one. Regaining himself, he replied with his own introduction." I’m Chambray, the last of the Taguel tribe!" It wasn’t something he was rather proud of, but he didn’t know how else to word it.
The closeness he felt to Lethe made complete sense now, at least. But so many more questions popped up. “Nice to meet you, Lethe. It nice to know I still have cousins, even better a nice lady like you is helping!” Chambray grinned. “I know a great forest that has vegetables if you dig in the right places, though you need a good nose. But knowing you, you do!” the rabbit replied, his long ears perking in joy.
"So you've heard of us? I suppose that makes things a little easier, and for one, it does appear to be that you are not so different from us." Lethe was now completely lax as she listened to what the "Taguel" had to say. They were like kindred spirits- their worlds were not so far apart.
"As you said, we may indeed be 'cousins', or at the very least close kin. I would have never thought that one day I would meet someone so similar. All my years have been filled with nothing but human land, from the mountain to the seas."
Good feelings and nostalgia aside, Lethe nodded, turning on a bit of seriousness as she listened to Chambray's instructions. Find the specific items, bring them back to camp; Simple enough. Her curiosity still hinted at her to learn more, especially at the mention of "the last of his tribe'...but she knew there was still work to be done before the two could chat all day. She would have to keep her comments to herself for now.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Chambray, and if I must say, your words are quite flattering. I thank you...and in fact sincerely hope our work together exceeds this outing. However... to continue would cause me to digress. Let us instead search for your desired harvest. Choose any form of transportation you see fit. I will follow your lead~ "
Need For A Change || Master Seal Open
Azur can’t seem to learn his lesson, can he? Naive and foolish, he couldn’t stop what has become a habit. Flirting was an easy act for him, and it has helped him overcome some of his shyness when approaching the ladies. But he never knew what to do when someone actually accepted his offers. He could only hope for things to go smoothly, but with his luck, it was unlikely.
And so here he was, conscious and lying on the ground of an alley in the middle of the day. He wouldn’t move quite yet, simply keeping his eyes open to stare at a wall nearby. He realised he was drugged by a woman after she went along with his tea invitation, and this wasn’t the first time either. Azur woke up not too long ago, and now he was wondering back to what has happened.
The youth finally stood on his feet, stumbling out of the dark alleyway. He pressed a hand against the corner of a wall, leaning his weight close to it. He felt heavy, and a little dizzy from the aftermath. After an audible sigh, he patted his chest and hip and discovered that he was still wearing his clothes from before his time with the nasty lady. But at least she was considerate enough to only steal his pouch of gold, unlike the previous person.
Relieved, the prince let out a nervous chuckle, reminiscing about all his bad choices. Was his mask really worth it in the end? His fellow allies found him annoying, but appreciated his light-hearted nature, which even made some of them happy in some way, and that was the reason why Azur kept doing what he has always been doing — putting on a fake smile. And even now, he wasn’t going to reconsider it — however that didn’t mean he wouldn’t go flop down and get upset. He was an emotional being after all. And as much as he was optimistic, he was pessimistic as well.
A tear rolled down his cold cheek, and he averted his attention below, letting his true emotions do the job while no one was around.
After a moment of silence, Azur wiped away his tears and began walking off. Without thinking, he grabbed onto a crate filled with empty boxes. He felt slightly better now, although he felt exhausted too. He leaned a little too close as he look about, noticing there was barely anyone on this side of the streets. The crate started to move further ahead and soon on its own because of a slight bump on the concrete floor. Before he knew it, Azur heard a loud crash, immediately causing him to turn and face the result of an accident. An unfortunate individual was on the other end, but the prince couldn’t see who it was. So he quickly ran over to the person, hoping to see them unharmed.
❝I-I’m sorry!❞ he cried out desperately. ❝I didn’t mean to do that…!❞
"Please tell his Majesty I'll be a little late. I have some personal duties I must tend to. I informed him earlier as well, so he should be understanding. You need not worry...and now, be off. "
With a sigh and a wave of her hand, Lethe dismissed the young Gallian messenger, wishing she could have simply returned with him. Alas, she could not, as she was left with more unsavory tasks to accomplish. Her darling sister Lyre requested a delicacy that could be only found in this town...and of course, being the older, and much more responsible of the two, this feline complied, knowing all too well that the other might end up dawdling in her freedom to roam.
However, complaining would achieve nothing. Lethe knew that all too well, picking herself up from her tiny pity party to roam the unfamiliar streets, seeking her sister's latest desire.
...Tea. Why would Beor-no, humans even desire the taste for such a thing? The aroma was enticing, sure but the taste...it simply ruined the flavors herbs could bring out on their own. It was an atrocity really, and for one who had no taste for it, this exploration mission was far more difficult than it should have.
A handful of minutes passed, and no luck. To avoid walking in a ridiculous circle, she decided it would be best to stop, and make a decision based on her location. Perhaps the town's geography could pinpoint a direction to head. Humans seemed to often group certain establishments together.
Unfortunately, upon stopping, Lethe would have no more than a few seconds to herself. As she stood idle, her ears caught the sound of metal pieces scraping against one another. Odd...where was that coming from?
She realized it too late as a large crate came tumbling towards her simultaneous with her turning reaction. Like an avalanche, she was showered in a most unwelcome barrage and all the while let out an angry hiss, fuming at the unnecessary assault.
"Who was the one who- "
❝I-I’m sorry!I didn’t mean to do that…!❞
Before she could finish her angered cry or have any sort of reaction for that matter, a young boy came out of no where, overwhelmingly apologizing for the accident. Lethe had a mind to snap at him for being a clumsy oaf, but one look told her the other wasn't in any sort of trickster mood. it might have been the state he seemed to be in, but he seemed to be genuinely apologetic.
So instead, she sat there and did her best to dismiss his worries, figuring she'd add just this incident as a multiplier of "I owe yous" her sister would be responsible for.
"It's alright. Is was an accident right? You need not worry...I'm fine. "

Cat got Your Tongue? [Masterseal Open]
A faint smile crossed her lips as the other woman suggested that they move to a clearing and she immediately nodded in response. It would probably be better to stay in one place instead of slowly and timidly walking around. It was so relieving to have someone be so kind to her about her current situation… even if it was a lie.
"Oh, that would be ever so wonderful. My sister would be sure to find us if we did stay in one place… thank you for the wonderful suggestion." She bowed slightly while loosening the grip on her Pegasus’ reigns; she must have been putting strain on the poor dear from her own fears. “But, um, do you think you could lead the way…? I just want to look around one last time to see if she will show up…"
"Do as you will, but be sure not to lose me in your search." The feline almost felt as if she was parenting a child, except on a much lighter level. She seemed to care awfully lot for this stranger...perhaps her dainty appearance had made her feel this way. She felt protective of this troubled little girl. "It'll do neither of us any good if I encounter her while you're away and we can't find you. "
With that, she led them to the pool and after allowing the other to care for her steed, she moved to ask one more question.
"Your sister...may I ask what she looks like?" Lethe asked gently, not trying to be too nosy. "Is she too a Pegasus Knight? What kind of individual shall I look for as I wait?"
galliasvalkyrie started following you
"I ain’t got no problem with you," he sneered. “‘Long as you sub-humans stay out of my way."
...sub-human.
At the sound of the very word roll off the red head's tongue, Lethe's tail thrashed violently, and ears twitched with irritation. She loathed that word; sub-human. It echoed within in her mind, taunting her, tempting her to lash out. Her years of dormant Beorc hatred boiled up, pressing her more to tear him apart. It would be so easy.. all she had to do was...
..was...
No, she had to hold it back. You may change a nation, but you may not be able to change every man. Shinon was one of them. As much as she wanted to, she could not do as her instincts told her. It prove to be a horrible example for the future, and be an embarrassment to the the Laguz tribe.
In short, he wasn't worth it.
"Hmph~ good." she scoffed back, as if making fun of him. "Please, feel free to go back to your taverns and indulge in your ludicrous human habits. I'll stay out of your way. I promise~"

If something’s good, it’s good. Denying something’s obvious worth out of petty spite is foolish.

Mapping Out "Friendship" [Lethe/Chambray]
"R-Really? You would help? Man, I thought I would be stuck in this dangerous place!" he exclaimed, happy to find someone just like him. “Scavenging’s my livelihood too! Well that and finding homes!"
The taguel kept his hopes high for once.. Even if she hid under her hood she had to be another one of his kind! She had to! Maybe not taguel, but something close? It didn’t matter all that mattered was her non-human scent. “I’ll answer anything! Let’s get started!" he replied enthusiastically, tempted to hop all the way to the forests rather than walk.
"I suppose I should start with an introduction. if we are to be partners on this scavenge, it would be best to be acquainted correct?" she replied, a smile now firmly planted on her lips. It wasn't a norm for Lethe to be so comfortable, but the longer she spent with the male, the easier things seemed to come to her. Something about his personality was refreshing oppose to all the politics she dealt with day in and out. It was...a home away from home., and even if she wouldn't admit it out right, she enjoyed every second of it.
As she followed the other, she slowly began do disassemble her hood, and parts of her cloak revealing to him some of her laguz traits. Much like he did, she too wore beast like ears accompanied with a tail, which calmly swayed back and forth. The cloak was built for spying and travels, so it was quite customizable, but hopefully what she did reveal proved enough she was no ordinary fellow.
After all, when working together, there should be no secrets. That was a Laguz ideal passed on through generations. If not, you could just smell out their truth. Liars never faired well amongst the beast tribe.
"I am Lethe, a member of the Laguz beast tribe, native to the continent of Tellius. I am far from home this day, but I'm honored to be in your company. Please, Allow me to do what I do best, and gather what you need."
"...now, what was it exactly you needed?"

Mapping Out "Friendship" [Lethe/Chambray]
Chambray was unused to such courtesy from people outside of Chrom, Lucina, and select few others. “N-No, it’s no problem! I should have went scavenging instead of this human market.." he replied, giving a small grin. Tucking his beaststone safely away, the rabbit relaxed slightly, It was far from his usual caution, but he felt he could trust the other’s words.
"King…Cain……….egg….his?" he blinked. He had heard of no such ruler anywhere, but the woman’s voice was now calm and soothing, it made him wonder if his mother sounded the same. “Uh, eh? Talk? I-I’m not in trouble, am I?" he asked, his anxiousness returning. As it would have it, he was curious about the other’s scent. Far from taguel, but still close….could it really be that, both he and formerly his mother, are not the last of their race after all? His hope in that fact washed his fear away and he nodded curtly. “L-Let’s talk!"
"Do not worry, you are in no such trouble~ if anything, I would be. I'm merely a traveler, and your familiarity with the land would be most helpful."
A small cheerful yet lax smile crept upon the feline at the agreement to talk. She had feared this might have been much harder than it needed to be, but she was glad she found someone sensible enough to spare a few minutes. Lethe chucked even more at the fact that the guy wasn't a beroc like her information had hinted. Of course it would be this way. Only so many humans would bother with a laguz after all.
"But...you did speak of scavenging, correct?" she then asked, curiosity still nibbling at her. "Before I ask my questions, perhaps I could be of assistance? Scavenging is the livelihood of my home as well. If you are out on business, I can assure you that I can at least half your work time. You could even...consider it a way of thanks for helping me.?
Cat got Your Tongue? [Masterseal Open]
Despite the caution in the other person’s voice, Florina proceeded to jump in surprise. Nothing could prepare her for social interaction, but she quietly swallowed her fear and nodded. She couldn’t have some random stranger worrying about her after all! That would just be unheard of, even if this sort of thing happened a lot.
"O-oh, um, yes, I’m alright! I just…" Her timid voice didn’t help with the fact that she was terrified and had no discernible lie for why she was looking so out of place. “I-I was… looking for my sister! Yes, she was supposed to meet me, and she’s nowhere to be found. Oh, how I worry for her so…"
Although there was a sliver of truth in her lie, Florina couldn’t help but feel… partially guilty and more afraid. It was more than likely that she’d get caught in her lie, but it was really worth a shot.
*So she was lost...poor girl...* It was even rarer of the Laguz to even sympathize on this stranger's behalf, but from her trembling voice to her easily spotted uneasiness, it would have been cruel to turn a blind eye. After all, her time was much better spent this way than heading back to that stiff uncomfortable thing the humans called a "bed". Bleh.
" I see. I'm glad you are not hurt, nor disturbed. I could help find your sister if you'd like, but before that why don't you follow me to the side here." with a kind smile she gestured to a clearing a few steps away. "There's a fresh water pool your Pegasus can drink from, and I believe it would be best to stay put in once place, just in case your sister is also looking for you. That way you won't pass one another on accident. "
