It's hard to love in a world like this one.

I don’t know what to feel. I feel relieved that the writers did not portray Mickey as transphobic, destructive, obessive or jealous. Scenes from the episode made me feel relief as well as a little stunned even as the creators took Mickey and Ian in the direction i was expecting(Ian walked away….yeah no shit). However my apprehension and terrible saddness held fast because the overlaying plot decision to have Mickey on the run rather then released due to overcrowding ensures that he can never come back. Also in the past two episodes Mickey spoke in grave detail how much Ian means to him and how he is always on his mind. He believed in Ian and trusted that he would come with him. Mickey thought Ian would keep him. That was the hardest part for me. Mickey reiterates how much more his life means as long as his has Ian and he even confronts Ian a little about how hurt he was due to his abandonment. It felt like Mickey built a home in a person who was always going to rent it out as an air b and b. I feel numb. Mickey got what he got, but he will always deserve better.

And now I return to not giving a fuck about Shameless.
