Hi! Welcome.

My main set of ocs are the Landry’s. They are Mae (tag: the anchor), Marcus (tag: the sun), Katherine (tag: the chemist) and James (tag: the stoic). They are a little mixed race family from the PNW.

Mae is my main oc. Shes also the most blatant Ted Lasso themed oc. She’s a soccer player and the captain for the newly formed AFC Richmond women’s team in the WSL (women’s super league). Mae used to play for the Portland Thorns but blew the whistle (anonymously) on a really big scandal and got blacklisted from the whole American soccer world despite being one of the best defenders in soccer history after the club found out it was her. After initially being booted from the team she actually went back home to where she was born in the PNW (Oregon specifically) and worked as a wildlife technician until the owner of AFC Richmond personally came out to try to convince her to come back to soccer in England.

The tag wolves is the women’s team as a whole with the rest of the players of the team.

Marcus is Mae’s older brother. He’s a food truck owner who lives in Reno, NV. He’s made his own little food truck empire in the PNW by taking the food of his youth and giving it a modern twist. Marcus grew up as the golden boy, with his grandparents/mother’s family fawning over him because he was their whitest grandchild. They bragged and boasted about his achievements and accomplishments because Marcus happened to also be gifted at school. The problem was he was so gifted he didn’t have to try for most of school, which meant he didn’t try, which meant when things got difficult he didn’t actually know how to work and failed. Once he dropped out of college, that was his fall from grace and he was no longer the golden boy which forced him to realize what that lifestyle had done to him, the connection to his culture as a much more white-passing person and what it did to his sister growing up.

Katherine is Mae and Marcus’s mother. She’s an organic chemistry professor working and living in the town she was born in. She was born 10 years after her siblings. Growing up, her parents separated from their culture and tried to assimilate, which had much more aggressive methods for her siblings but by the time she was born her parents were too tired to raise her yet alone enforce the effort of aggressive methods. So really, Katherine raised herself. She became the first person in her family to get a bachelor’s and then the first to get a masters or a doctorate. Katherine kept coming back to her hometown to learn about her culture from her grandmother because her mother wouldn’t teach her. Then when she had her kids she passed it onto them, and loved them in ways her own parents hadn’t.

James is Mae and Marcus’s dad. He works for a local ranch as a ranch hand. He’s a former Air Force engineer/mechanic who really only joined the Air Force to escape his dad in the South. His dad was a very verbally abusive man who thought the best way to discipline his kids was to shout at them. James retroactively became really quiet and hesitant to express any emotion because he feared it would come out as angry as his father. He met Katherine while stationed in her hometown, where she was staying after just finished her bachelor’s degree. Katherine didn’t get loud, she got precise. They got married and had two kids. Because she was working on her PhD a fun little fact is for their son for the first bit of his life (really until his sister was born and Katherine finished her PhD) James was the primary caregiver. He left the Air Force before their kids were born and became a ranch-hand to provide a stable job and income because he’s a working man.
