Highway Unicorn

I just watched Les Misérables and oh my fucking God. Oh my God. It was amazing. Just so, so, so good. I can't get over how good it was. It was everything I expected and more. The cinematography was great, the acting was amazing amd the music was to die for. I was probably most surprised by Russell Crowe. I had no idea he had a voice like THAT! I think I feel most sorry for Éponine. I just really connected with her. I have to say, though, if I were in her position, I would have done the exact same thing. And Anne Hathaway doing I Dreamed A Dream. It was so perfect. It really was. Weirdly though, it didn't feel long enough. I know its two and half hours, but I wish it went on forever. And Helena Bonhem Carter was wonderful in it. I actually started hating her for he character, which is always a good sign. Like, with an actor you love its always easy to like them when the role calls for it but its mark of a true actor that can make you hate them in a role despite how much you love them as an actor. But that being said, its not her characters fault for being the way she is. She is one of the products of the society which made her. And can we talk about how Marius is hot, in a weird way. I mean that in a good way, of course. But, he's not someone that I thought I would find hot but... dayum. There's something cute and dorky about him. And he's so passionate and so caring and kind. I want to take Cosette's place. Not gonna lie. I was also really surprised that they showed Gavroche being shot. But bless Javert giving him the medal. Speaking of Javert, I haven't seen the musical in years and I couldn't remember him killing himself, but I couldn't believe that he did that! He was such a good character! He had a true heart and had no problems doing what he thought was right. So, I guess he did what he thought was best. By jumping off a bridge. But he wasn't without faults. He was so blind to kindness and trust and only saw what he thought he was there. In short, it was just... amazing. Just... wow. Wow!
